antenna coax connector in rear?

[I DID try to search---promise---but maybe I'm a lousy searcher]
I've just happily added another MB to the driveway, a 2002 C230K Coupe (photos as soon as I get fresh camera batteries and a little time). I could really use someone to fill me in on all the nooks and crannies, but for now it's just me and the manual. There's a little compartment in the right rear under the hatch that has a coax connector in it. Is that for an additional/alternate antenna?

That is an antenna connector for the phone if you decide to add one. The antenna runs in the rear bumper I believe. All of the wiring is in place, so all you need is the parts. There are alot of coupe q&a on the forum, as there are a few of us around.

thanks for the reply, and I'm sure I'll be asking more as time goes by. I think I'll check mikbox.com about my phone options. BTW, why is the C-Coupe in a sedan forum, as opposed to with the other coupes?

That question has been asked before, but I don't know why it was grouped with the sedans. It would be nice to have a CL203 forum for the coupe owners.

I think with the mikbox you need all of the major phone components already in place, like the compensator and the PSE. Do you have phone components installed now?

no, naturally I have the PSE etc. in the W202 which my wife drives. She uses Nextel and has never been interested in integrating the phone (short commute). I would probably hunt ebay, rather than move the stuff from one car to another (I even bought a Timeport off ebay for the W202--never activated it).
