A-pillar boost gauge

I've been working on adding a boost gauge to the A-pillar. Bought a universal A-pillar pod and a new oem A-pillar. Wrapped oem fabric from old pillar around the pod. I think it looks okay. Bought a speedhut 2.25" electric boost gauge.
I took a pic with my new micro pc, the Sony VIAO UX180P. That's why the picture ain't that great.

Yeah, still working on it. Clips are just to hold it temporarily so I can position it where I want to on the A-pillar. When I'm done, I'll still be able to remove the pod and have a stock looking pillar without any noticeable holes. Not gluing it down.

The cool thing about Speedhut gauges is that they are customizable. I chose this design for the gauge, so that it illuminates almost like the dash at night, yet it looks inconspicuous in daylight since it's grey color.

i was looking into the boost gage, but found out you have to drill into the manifold cover for the sensor and that's pretty much the only way to do it, so I passed on the idea. cool to see people going for it tho.

Do you have a 211 E55 engine waiting to be transplanted?

If you do make sure you have the tranny and the ECU matched to the engine.

This was Pete's biggest hurdle and he had to get a brand new ECU and then find a dealer to have the pair the two together. Ask Pete, this was NOT an easy task to accomplish and set him back at least a month.

No not yet. I would want to make sure it can be done (I know anyhting can be done but for a reasonable price) before I dropped a large amount of money on an engine/tranny/ECU. Thanks for the tips though.

on the one i'm making, the splitter is integrated to the lip; ie one piece. we won't be making a splitter just for people with the brabus lip since there are extremely few people who have it.

Just finished installing some CF interior trim

Installing the upper center console CF trim is easy, except for the rollo; it was a real ***** to install. Minor trimming of some tabs on the upper center console trim was needed. The rollo needed major trimming to fit correctly. I must have taken apart the entire center console 10+ times to get the fit and function of the cupholder area right. In the end, the CF rollo looks great together. Pieces were made in Germany by an AMG supplier. Quality of the overlay is the best I've seen yet. Even my CF guy was impressed.

.........Wow!! I just saw this thread for the first time. Incredible!! comgratulations.

...........can you give more info on the ECU. I know very well what SCN coding means. It marries the ECU to the VIN # of the car. The ECu talks to the other computers in the car which must have matching Vin#'s. This is where I get confused. I understand that a VIN# for a 2004 C32 was chosen and the ECU was SCN coded to that vin. OK, how about the stock TCU in your car. Was anything done to it? Thanks. I know someone who wants to stuff a V12 biturbo engine in an E-class 4matic. Your answers will be very helpful.

You're correct about the ECU and SCN coding. My stock TCU was reprogrammed with C32 software. Honestly, my knowledge of the actual coding procedure is limited. I just paid the technician $1000 for the coding, which was well worth it since he got the motor running fine. Josh at HOP knows everything about what coding was done to get the motor working. A V12 biturbo W211 4-matic would be an AWD rocket.

WOW pshek, that really is an impressive job, I'm happy for you that it eventually worked fine despite the delays... I also like the dark carbon fibre look of the interior. Great job! Congrats.

Do you have any ideas of the perfomances you get now, how do they compare with a genuine C 32 AMG Coupe:
260 kW/354 hp at 6100 rpm and a maximum torque of 450 Nm at 4400 rpm, 5.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 60.

A photo of a genuine one from Affalterbach with dual exhaust:

Peter,
congrats ! Can't wait to see it / hear it !

Finally back from Cuba / Afghan...
and ready to start working on my coupe again in 2007.
Only got 30,000 miles so far... but with a new C32 engine it will feel like new again. Need to catch up on the forums to see when the next meets will take place. Hope to see you soon !!
