C230 Kompressor v.s. GTI VR6
My coupe is a 2002 and the VR6 is a 2001.
What does everyone think?
--My info on the GTI is from a 2002 though...
Interesting. The GTI is about 300 pounds lighter than the Coupe, but has 200 HP compared to 192 in the stock coupe. The coupe beats the GTI in Torque though with 200 lbs compared to 195lbs, and the GTI is FWD compared to the RWD Coupe.

I think that it should come down to driver reflexes and skill. So looks like bro has the edge there! Might want to switch cars and see what happens. If he still wins, then you should bow down to your better.
I would never downgrade to drivng a VW.
At least, until one of his window regulators breaks down. If you get a mod, won't he just get one also? It'd be a fun war, though. Just remember that he has $7-10k to play with, if we're going to do apples to apples with the two cars.

Even if we may lose to a few cars along the way, we still have the dignity of being Benz drivers in the end.
Although the Coupe is a fairly solid competitor against similar cars in its class, it is unfortunately not at the top when it comes to racing. But racing is not what the Coupe's all about, right?

It has a six speed, 241 HP, AWD with wide 18 inch tires. I say give it 2 months awfter its release in the states and tuners will have it making 280+. Too bad it doesnt have a turbo
If it had a turbo I would very seriously consider slling the coupe for the VWhttps://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...highlight=fast
well if your bro gets one of the new VW Golf R32's you could put a pulley, intake ECU and exhaust on it and you still wouldnt touch him.

That's true, but it's not even in the same class as the coupe, being that it is around $38k. This is going to compete against G35 coupes and the Nissan 350Z. With quality German engineering, you'd be crazy to choose the G35 or 350Z!!
Yes but its still a VW. The styling of the G35 and 350Z are much nicer than the R32.
