Not 100% sure yet if I'll be there. Right now I'm playing it by ear because my #1 priority right now is to save up for my rims and that's gonna cost me $4,000 at least (including tires) and most likely more...so depends on whether or not I can afford to spend money driving there.

It's actually my good homegirl's b'day. She's celebrating at a place called Suite one8one in San Fran. Ever heard of it? I'll hit you up for sure, if I head out there.

Actually,
that's something we discussed early on, when 5 or 6 of us set up "THE BENZ GROUP".
We would like to extend our Meet Organizing Skills up to NorCal,
so we get the same type of great turnouts and have fun event-filled MB Meets. We eventually want to get as big as BimmerFest, but we have to take small steps to get there. First of all, we need sponsors. Our last meet drew over 85 MB's. This meet will definitely be close to 150 MB's. As we increase in size, hopefully, the sponsors will come to us.

As that happens we can expand into NorCal, and set up meets simultaneously (SoCal Benz-Fest & NorCal BenzFest) and then move up to one giant huge California Benz-Fest. Anyway, it can be huge but we gotta start somewhere.

So perhaps in a year or two we can pull off a 100-150 MB Meet in the NorCal area, and I'll be the first to drive all the way up there !!!

dtxmob (Danny) is coming down to the Irvine meet all the way from San Jose, and i just hoped that other NorCal peeps could ride down with him....

so all's good. And if you can't come to the meet, the meet will eventually come to you !!

Some more pix of one my previous headlight (Depo headlight + BMW X5 projector). I changed headlight as often as my wife changing purse , well, just like one say, you have xenon, and you see another car pull up w/ brighter xenon. BMW is better than Benz, Audi better than BMW, Acura beat Audi, and Lexus beat all.... .

Other pix are of my supercharged ballast (70W), it beam out about 26000 cd in term of brightness (at 65-70W), as compared to 10400cd for OEM 35W xenon, it's like super-beam from helicopter. It's so bright, my wife freak out, so I sold that one too. It was fun while it last. The ballast was built like a submarine.

Btw, if anyone interest in doing a xenon projector retro, raymond did an amazing write-up, very detail & clear instruction. It's posted in "other" popular Benz forum.

Blake, were you ever able to find out what shop did the BI-X that you've seen with color match bi-x? I'm still contemplating having this done and not sure if there is a shop in L.A. (well there probably is, but gotta do research) that can do this. If I can get in touch with whichever body shop has done this, at least maybe I'll have an idea of what to tell a body shop down here that's willing to attempt it.

thanks.

Bad news Drex. He said he bought the car from a guy who already had the headlights done that way. He mentioned that Darwin at Carlab Motorsports in Santa Clara, CA has done a few sets that way, so you might try contacting him at 650-641-0194. Tell him you were referred by Blake and Ronnie.

Painted projector headlights

I had a thought the other day after walking through the Miami Car show, and thought, what if I bought a pair of those projector headlights, the ones that have the black in them, and if I could possibly have the black painted to match the color of my car (mars red) sorta like the new Corvettes with how the headlights match the car. I am not too sure how this would look, sounds like it could look hot, but is this possible, would it work? any suggestions would be greatly apreciated, or maybe if someone here is good with photoshop they could do a little demo to see how it would work
Just a thought right now, may come true soon

Of course, bro. I just don't know any shops that I would trust to do this and have been to scared to take them apart myself cuz once there's a problem, bye-bye bi-x.

OEM BiXenon with Black Housing

Guys,

I searched but don't think anyone has done it.
I'm thinking to have the OEM Bi-Xenon with black housing. Do you know if it's possible to do it into the OEM housing? I know that I can just buy the depo one on ebay but I have to buy with the bulbs, ballast, etc. I've seen other car mfg which they have the DIY to paint the inside housing, etc. Has anyone done it with the benz OEM Bix?
THanks.

Actually, it was merged into my overall "history of Drexappeal's ride" thread.

But rlee is correct, I did start a thread about this before. Was considering taking the OEM bi-x apart and having the shroud color matched (similar to the Corvette C7 housing or Ferrari housing).

Ultimately, I figured that it was not worth it if something went wrong...I may still attempt it later down the line, when my car isn't a daily driver, but right now...the project is on hold.
