The SoCal price differential is for new cars (though I'd guess it might apply to used as well). I've read a number of threads related to "what did you pay..." or "is this a good deal..." or any thread about various cash incentive programs from MBUSA, that will detail SoCal prices being substantially less than the rest of the country. Something about so many dealers, supply and demand, yada, yada, yada; do a search if you're interested.
Me, I always buy 3 year old former lease cars that show up at the lender's auction. As long as I end up paying less for the one I buy than everyone else is asking for the ones I don't want, then I figure I did okay.

sorry for the misinformation. it's a 2004 C320 Sedan (Luxury NOT Sport) with just the 6-Disc Changer added. so. it's not just $100 over KBB Trade-In Value
i really thought it was a great deal. should have done further research.
