Badgeless versions are available from the factory in countries outside the US. This goes for Mercedes, BMW, and I think Audi. Both high-end and low-end models can be ordered this way.
Often the armored versions are completely badgeless. I have seen armored BMW's in Latin America that even lacked the BMW emblem. Only the car enthusiasts know.
Different people have different reasons for going badgeless. I still like my "Kompressor" emblem, though.

You guys are missing one important facet of debadging...balance. Badges are often only on one side of the car and offset the symmetry of the car. Taking them off can really sharpen up the back of a car, i did it to my A4 (the 2.8) because the badges were bulky and unbalanced. I think the same holds true for the 230, you have C230 on one side and Kompressor on the other, thats pretty busy badging and certainly imbalanced. BTW, the Star is centered and symmetrical and therefore does not present the same problem. Good move on the debadge, i cant believe this guy is getting so much crap for his debadging when there are guys on here with AMG badges on non AMG cars and one with a "C23".

Some years ago, before I learned about how people would debadge their cars for the clean look, I had thought that all those Mercedes-Benz cars with no badge had been rear-ended and repair guys at the bodyshops were too lazy to glue back the badge

Sorry if anyone thought I was giving anyone crap, just putting my thoughts in. I do think it looks clean and I like it either way. I don't like people that put badges on thier car that don't belong though, that's just stupid. There will always be faster cars and nicer cars. Love what you have.

A lot of repetition, huh? Well, here's some more! I guess we can conclude that debadging makes for a cleaner look, but it seems pointless to debadge a high-line Mercedes $80k+!! Embarassment for the cheaper model...maybe?? But what comes down to is what your preferences are and what you view as pointless or clean/sporty!! Besides, regardless of what is done it is and always will be a Mercedes-Benz and that is really something to be proud of regardless of the model you own!!!
By the way...nice car timsam and everyone else! Nice first mod and lots of luck to future mods!! Keep us updated as they come!!

De-badging looks awesome. Makes the car look so much cleaner. I am picking up my C on Wednesday and having them de-badge it before i take delivery.

I think it looks good, I also de-badged my C. It is rediculas that timsam is getting trashed for his first mod, particularly by this guy ^, who is getting on my nerves.

All the time. Its a personal choice quite popular among those that clean the car themselves.

De-badging a car is alright, just preferance. Re-badging your car to something it's not is not alright. I think we got this all figured out, now kill this thread

I ordered mine debadged but my dealer said that was the first time he had heard of a request like that.
Now that the 6 cylinders are out the Kompressors are collectors items. so I'm glad I still have ny badges on "Go Kompressors!"
