Unhappy Help: Dead gas pedal on my C230 coupe...

This started acting up yesterday and it got worse today. When I stepped on the gas pedal, it hesitated whether to give gas or not. This got worse today when I stepped on the gas pedal, the motor is still at idle, no acceleration what so ever! This happens intermittently without any warning and anyone out there with any experiences like this???

that happened to me in the ML320 loaner car they gave me this week. it actually went into neutral and the brakes failed too. i had to turn the car off and throw the emergency brake before i ran into the fence around the dealer's parking lot.

I had something similar happen to me. It was related to a faulty brake light switch. Seems as though the fuel cut of engages whenever you apply the brakes. When the brake light switch is faulty and signals that the brakes are being applied this triggers the fuel cut off. Anyway they replaced the switch and it never happened again.

Smile Got the dead pedal problem fixed!!!

Bought the car to the dealer when the dead pedal acted up on Wednesday, found out that the sensor on the gas pedal was bad, got it replaced and now the car drives faster, got a sharper throttle response too! If anyone of you have this problem, drive it straight to the dealer, do not shut off the car, it will erase the sympton and let the service tech drive it and they'll be amazed at this problem.
