Maybe it didn't have it because the car was built before the release date.....?

The newest version is a Q-6-46-0213. The first I saw it was about 2 weeks ago, coming in new R-classes. So it just came out.

The R Class and the C class DO NOT use the same disc. THe C class only shares the disc with the CLK class. The current version is 2004.1. NOT 2005.1 Fazooley, what did you need done in NY? I may be there soon.

Yes, they DO use the same disc. The '06 ML and '06 R have been using the Q-6-46-0204 disc since they came out. It is labeled for the C and CLK. The Q-6-46-0213 disc just came out and it is an updated version, and also new packaging, so that it now shows on the cover that it is for C, CLK, ML, and R.

Hey whats up Matt. Your sure about this right? I called my dealer today and relayed this information to him and he was like if thats the case come down on monday and pick up a new disk. So as long as the dealership has this new DVD with the picture of the C.Clk,ML,R on the cover I'm gonna take one home. Does anyone with an ML or R class have a picture of this disc or can confirm this?

Yes, I'm sure about this. Since you have the part number, you should call your dealers parts department and see if they have it in stock before you go there to pick it up. Since it just came out, they may not carry it yet. They have to order it directly from NAVTEQ and it usually takes a few days.

Yup, you were correct about this. For all who are curious, below are the pics of the new 2005.1 DVD I picked up today from my dealer. My car isnt off-road in many of the spots as before, and many streets which were missing appear now. If anyone's looking for this, pm me.

I forgot the R class also uses a MCS system as the ML. So all MCS II Equipped cars use the same map software as the systems are made by Alpine. All others are made by becker such as the E, CLS, S, SL and CL. By compairson, the MCS2 Map Database is around 6 gigs. (as of 2004) The Becker systems use a map database of 1 gig. I am not sure why there is such a huge difference but I know you can enter destinations on MCS2 systems with a phone number also.

BTW, I picked up a new 2006 C55 last week and the car also came with 2004.1. After talking with my saleperson, he had the parts department send me an updated 2005.1!

Way to go Mercedes Benz of Laguna Niguel !!!!!

I'm sorry that I forgot to report on the Nav DVD in my C350. I found it had the 2004 version so my salesman went out to the shop and got me a 2005 version. He said that most of the discs in the drawer were the 2004. The discs are put in at the dealer, not at the VPC.

This is a good warning to all. Make sure you check to have the latest version because the dealer will probably try to used up the old stock and give you an old version. The new versions are probably kept in the parts department for resale.

No, the discs ARE put in at the VPC. The dealer probably takes them out until the car is sold. This is what is done at my dealer, so that the discs don't go missing out of any of the cars. They are kept locked up in a drawer and put back in the cars when they are sold.

The cars come from the VPC with the discs in the trunk with all the books.
