Damn, it's too bad too, cuz I was gonna invite all you bay area heads to my homegirl's party. Well, there's always other opportunities that'll come up.

Hope you do get a digi for your b-day. If not, maybe us members can set up a fund for you. A digital camera is a "must have". Keep downing the San Miguels. Don't forget to have some pansit. long noodles = long life.

Doesn't have to be a "perfect" picture, but as long as it's clear enough where it doesn't look smeared, I'll be cool. The Sony DSC-N1 is the next to come out and is 8.1 Megapixels, but I don't think I need that. So right now, it's between the DSC-T7 and DSC-T5. All comes down to size of the camera and actual clarity of the pictures. If the pictures really come out blurry, then I'll probably look into other cameras.

Drex,
A couple of things to think about. One, you might get a good deal at Goodguys. However, once they close down all there stores, I'm not sure how warranty goes if something goes wrong with your camera.
Two, my brother got his Sony digital camera along with other gadgets at the Sony Store (outlet). You can definitely get some good deals, especially if you know someone there. Salespeople do have a limit as to how much they can buy a year. Also, make sure it's not a refurbished one. Check with the warranties. He does have problems with it now too.
Three, I personally believe that Canons are by far the best digital cameras out there. Check out the reviews of them. I have the powershot S400 for compactness and the Canon Digital Rebel SLR for quality, flexibility, and quick shutter speed to capture action shots.
Lastly, check out Costco to see what they have. I'm sure you know about their outstanding return policy. If something goes wrong, you can always exchange it even after years go by. They won't tell you that, but you can return just about anything at anytime. Keep your receipt though. The only exception would be computers and software as those change way to quickly.
I have had friends had camcorders breakdown after 2+ years gone by. Even though the model was no longer available, they were able to exchange it a better model and got full value of what they paid.
Something to think about.....
