Rear bumper strip replacement?
After I finish waxing...I go inside to get ready to go to starbucks. When I come out...a gust of wind blew my front gate into the rear bumper strip of my car.
How hard is this to replace on my own? I'm pretty sure I can order this from Steve...and don't really want to take it to the "stealership". Any one done this before?
Thanks,
Eric Y.

I'm not too sure by the pics, but I assume that the scratch won't be able to be taken out by just buffing it with finishing material... You could try the touchup pen if you don't want to spend that much.
But, it looks like that employee really did deserve to be terminated...
good luck!
That strip is secured by one torx 20 screw at the wheel well...you will have to take that strip off starting at the wheel well side...the first 2 clips are difficult to release - after that the rest just pulls out...be glad that it is not a W211 (nearly impossible to take the bumperstrips out on those without damaiging the bumper or the strip).
greetingz,

It'll probably cost just as much to buy the pre-painted part as to have a body shop take off, re-paint and re-install.

I had a feeling it was a body shop I had my carlsson-style spoiler painted at, but then I realized that they had the correct paint also.
It's already been over 1 year since I discovered it, so I just let it go and it's not so horrible that I need to get it fixed. If it was a huge eye-sore, I would definitely have fixed it. Only reason I even noticed it was because I was taking closeup pictures of my car for the first time.
I got my tire replaced this morning..and they reccomended the two rears be replaced...so there went almost 700 bucks.

$700 for the tires? What tires did you get? I can't remember, do you have OEM wheels or did you upgrade to 18/19?

actually, I'm gonna be in OC (the Block to be exact) early in the morning to meet up with the buyer of those C320 springs I had. but, I gotta get working these papers I have due, so I might go to DTLA...
What/Where is Super Autobacs? I've never heard of it. I wonder if the Chipstick would smooth out the pen.
Here's a few revised shots after I used the chip stick...from close up you can still tell it's there but it's not as bad as the first picture I posted. From far away...it's almost invisible.
Drex...as for the tires..I have the Michelin Pilot Sports which came with my car.

You're in Hawaii, right? The only thing I can think is that it's based on Tires having to be shipped over seas all the time, therefore the price hike.
