Brakes
1) What model do you have (240, 320, 230 K, 230, 280, 350)?
2) What year?
3) Where do you live? (Price can vary in different areas)
4) Brake pads or pads and rotors? And what kind of pads?
I suggest you put the make, model and year of your vehicle in either your profile or signature. That way, nobody will ever have to ask, if you ever start another thread again.
Now, with that being said, please respond with info so that we can help further.

It is..and if this guy is trying to save money that's the way to go.
M-Benz,
I'm willing to bet there's a DIY sticky somewhere around here also. If your incompetent in that field then you will have to pay someone for there time that knows how to install them. Every shop in every town charges a different price on labor so starting a new thread is pointless on this topic.
This is what i do, and i'm @ 20k miles with my breaks still fresh. (and i push my car everyday)
Yes, this will give you better stopping power. As for lasting longer, it depends on how you drive and how you brake. If you're out there beating your car up and stopping hard/late, then your brakes are not gonna last as long as you want them to.
Regardless, from what I've heard, the OEM rotors that the C Class' had before the 2004.5 re-fresh were not very good. That being said, that's why I mentioned you should check if they can get you the re-fresh brakes from the 2004.5 (my model year). The 2005-present models have 2 piston calipers. My model has the 4 piston calipers, which are the same calipers as the C32 AMG, except it says Mercedes Benz on the calipers instead of AMG. They only did this for the 2004.5 "re-fresh" models. I can try to get the part number for you when I have a free chance. Mercedes normally doesn't give out part numbers, but I'll do my best.

Thanks!
by the way, the c230 4 piston brakes and the c32 brakes arent the same
Prevention: Racers learn early on never to apply their emergency brakes or stay on the break pedal after a race until the rotors and pads have cooled down - - - good advice for any spirited or mountain road driving. Another piece of good advice for keeping your brakes in top condition is to break them in properly (also called bedding them in). There are many articles on the web on how to do this and it is well worth the effort any time you either buy a new car or change either the pads or rotors. Hope this is helpful!
