white and whiter
I find it other than silver cars with black grille all other body-color grille needs to have a plate in the front to seperate the line between the hood and the bumper.
he's in LA. the car he posted is in Japan. Most japanese have good taste when coming on mods other than those that prefer the VIP style.

I think that you should leave the grille chrome... it looks much cleaner.
EDIT: Both white C's are very nice rides.

As long as the grill you're painting doesn't have a Star, i think it'll look really good and clean, especially with the rims you have. Now if you do have the CL-style grill (i can't really tell from the side pic of ur car), don't even dare touch it. In the pics you provided, i think the car looks really clean and sporty, definitelly a nice and original mod (compared to all the cl-style grills every 1 gets nowadays)

Doesn't that seem a little overdone?...too monotone? If anything I would paint it black if it were to be painted at all. IMO I love the chrome grille and wouldn't paint it, change it, etc. The chrome ribbed grille really complements the whole car and MB image!!!

i wouldn't do it. the grille matches your high polished wheels. in my opinion it looks ricy....i've always been a fan of two tone so it would accent the car much better.

I agree with the others who say to avoid the monotone look. I think the grill, polished wheels, and other trim provide design elements that help accept the body design in tasteful ways. especially on a white car that can use the contrast... this comment from a lover of white cars, btw.
I notice the Japanese example posted has a white theme going on... white hood badge, reflective (white-ish) tint, etc. Those white door pillars for example... the black pillars from the factory help blend front and rear windows together, minimizing (for some) the 4-door look through the window area. Painted white, the appearance looks disrupted, instead.. diminished somewhat by the tint, but still looks disrupted, and OBVIOUS 4-Door now.
Paint the grill white and you might feel obligated to paint the headlight bezels in order to preserve any horizontal continuity. Once done, you might as well paint everything else white, too. Turn it into a real Pillsbury doughboy, not that it's a bad thing, as it's your choice. But it's not what I would do to a white car for myself.
BTW, for the same reasons, I don't like the black overall monotone look, either. For instance, a black car with a black grill flanked by those prominent chromed headlight bezels looks "bug-eyed" to me. Several have done it, but I don't like it myself. To each his own.

I suggest painting the insert portions white (where it's normally black) and then keep the exterior portion of the grille chrome. I think that'll be very subtle, but add a nice touch to your car. So, in other words, have a body shop cover all the exterior chrome portion and spray the interior slats of the grille where it is black (for sport models, at least).
I was trying to do a "mock-up" with the pictures you had, but it didn't come out good. So I took a grille picture from ebay to show you what I mean. I've indicated the portion that I think would look good if you painted white, but leave the exterior portion chrome.

Thank you all for your input on this. I might not do it at all. I like my grille and i wouldnt change it for the CL or any grille with the star on it. I just wanted a little subtle change to the front.
I might however buy this grille from ebay and paint it white. That way if i dont like it, ill put my stock one back in. This is a stock o5 grille without the middle piece. More like the Brabus CLK grille. I likes.....
