I changed my battery and now have a problem
The car started great, my bi-xenons turned on but I got a message that says "ESP not programmed - visit workstation". This morning I turned on the car and the ESP is working now.
Here's my problem. I have no audio. In radio I get no sound, when I hit CD it says "No Changer", and in TEL "No Phone". Is there something that I need to get programed. Can I do it myself? I hope that I have to take my car to the dealer for them to rape me again.
Thanks in advance.
Actually right before I left the library to go to class that crossed my mind.
I'll call the dealer right after I leave class.
Thanks again

It only costs a couple of dollars more than a second class battery from an auto parts store, and your back up and running. A Die Hard is almost $ 100, and roadside gets $ 115.
Look for the radio code in the folder containing the owner's manuals. Also, read same for the correct method to resync everything after disconnecting the battery.

I called both dealers Mercedes of North Miami and Mercedes of Pembroke Pines earlier this morning and they said that I needed to get an appoitment. One of them said that I fried the radio and software and it would be about $600 to check
.Anywho I got it solved. Thanks again to everyone with your suggestions.

To safely install a new battery you are now supposed to remove the rear trunk lining on the left side and unplug the power INTO the rear SAM so that it does not draw power at any time during the power up process.
I have heard of people getting massive phantom problems after doing a battery change very carefully.
I have read on this subject and spoken to several people in the workshops. There is inherent risk in changing a battery without precautions. The BEST precaution according to current thinking is to pull the rear SAM power cord and I must admit that it seems to work well.
I have also heard of some people blowing the front SAM too. But that appears to be unlikely. The advice to just pull the power a few times is about as risky as it gets. The worst part is that it may take a few weeks for the signs to show up.
The mechanics have to do this every day. The stories they tell are very informative.

So the cost for the new batt is $115, is that including tax? I just wanna make sure that I wont get rip off. My car's batt died just a couple mins ago and I will call the MB Road Assistance in the next 3-4 hours (got something to do).
Anyone can confirm about the price? Also, can anyone tell me what other thing I should pay attention when the MB guy come to change the batt?
Just out of curiosity, How long approx. did you guy wait until the MB guy show up?
Thanks in advance
