W203 Rally Car

Interesting question. I have to say, if I were looking for a potential rally car the W203 would not spring to mind. In the factory configuration it's too big, too heavy and doesn't have a competitive 4WD system. So it would likely take a committed and eccentric dealer to produce one and I'd be interested to hear.

I'd agree that it may not make the best rally car, but what about a sportscar/touringcar/racecar?
Sure the German DTM series has often been dominated by MB, but why haven't we seen the W203 or other MB cars in North American, British, European, Australian and other touring car/GT sportscar racing?
There are a ton of BMW's and Porsches and even Honda, Ford and GM have their examples but surprisingly a lack from MB

Probably due to the target market. Mercedes probably doesn't see the benefit of having a Factory race team in those areas. You have to remember, the company doesn't really care about the race itself. They care about the exposure and benefit.
