Two months old -- accident

What do you guys think? Looks like front bumper - because that wraps around, the metal around the tire, the tire itself, rim, possibly suspension work...any possibility of problems with the 4matic as a result?
I'll say this much -- if you only saw his car - a lot more damage...
....I'm so annoyed/frustrated.
On the bright side, the damage doesn't look too bad. The fender's going to have to be replaced, as is the bumper, but what's amazing to me is that the fender doesn't seem to have moved out of place (the hood line is still straight, it doesn't seem to meet the fender). That means the likelyhood of frame damage is low. Lots of things can be fixed/replaced but diagnosing/fixing frame damage is very difficult. Let us know how it goes, and see if you can take advantage of the situation somehow, like Doug did just recently after his accident.

Dont forget that the 4MATIC is built in a special factory away from all of the other cars and that the parts used are not even similar to the generic 2WD cousin.
I have seen damage like this on SL and it was worth about 1/2 the value of the car.

one word:
DEALER
first, bring it to the dealer where you purchased your MB for 4MATIC inspection and repairs, ABS, ESP, BAS sensors could be messed up in left front end, then have the body works second.
if you have the 4MATIC repaired in a local shop, you may end up hearing a grinding or clicking sound when you turn.
btw what dealer in NJ you got your vehicle?

If the accident wasn't your fault, you can claim "diminished value" in most states. Simply put: your Mercedes is now worth less even after being repaired, than it would be if it had never been wrecked. The other guy's insurance will obviously protest, but they are trying to save money by paying you as little as possible. Diminished value is mostly used in the case of late model premium cars; Mercedes fits the definition well. A premium body shop can maybe help you with this process. Beware of "affordable" body shops recommended by insurance.
Good luck on your journey.
I recently just had an accident to my c320... a reckless driver missed a stop sign and hit my car...
Do we have to hire a lawyer to claim for "diminished value"?.. Anyone knows if diminished value claim is enforced in the state of Illinois?..
Thanks
I drove to Globe so a friend could drop of her car for service and briefly mentioned that my CD magazine won't eject. The gave us a loaner, we went to lunch at the diner & when we got back an hour later they had replaced my changer under warranty!
I hope they treat you as well as they treated me - and I didn't even buy my car from them.
The total bill comes to just about $9k and the other guy's insurance picked up the entire bill and everything was recorded for me as a "no fault" accident so my premiums didn't go up (for which I'm already paying too much because I'm under 25, a male, with a new car! Sucks being 24 *grr*...one more year to go for that drop in cost)
I also added rental reimbursement to my insurance in case I ever need it... I never sat down to think about how much a rental car really cost until this accident. My rental (paid by the other guy's insurance) was $29/day...x 40 days roughly is $1160! That would have been painful out of pocket, so I added on the rental reimbursement. My rental by the way is a new 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix with black on black. It was the best possible thing while waiting for my benz.
Ooooh, I'm so excited! I can't wait to see my car again!
... oh, and Happy New Year an hour early folks! I wish you all the best in '06, and since this is a MB forum, safe driving as well!
