remote doesnt work after battery replacement

remote doesnt work after battery replacement
I replaced the batteries in my key and now it wont unlock the car. I manually unlocked it and stuck the key into the ignition switch and nothing happens. Lights dont come one or anything. The red led lights up when I press the unlock button.ANyone got any ideas?Thanks

Well the manual says to put the key in the ignition for it to reprogram. I did that and nothing happened. On a hunch I decided to hook up my jumper pack to see if it was a dead battery. It was dead.soon as I touched the negative cable the light came one and so did the alarm. I tried to start it and I heard a click and could'nt get it to even turn over. So off to the shop tomorrow. Iv read to many posts about crap happening after the battery is changed so im not even going to attempt to replace it.
