Question about electronics
I just got the Starmate reciever for sirius...if i take the power cable and strip in and hook it up to where the dome lite bulb is...would that work...its essentially the same 12V power rite? Ive seen how people hardwire Valentines but all that grounding and leading from the fuse box is that necessary?...if not the dome light where can i tap in for an easy DIY job of hardwiring this thing?

I taped in a wire very easily from behind the cigarette lighter.
I did that for my radar detector.
The cirgarette lighter is switched power, i.e. it turns off when you remove the key, which is nice for a radar detector.
The wire goes all the way to the bottom left of the windshield where I have my detector.
