Don't use anything too harsh. I use Meguiars #40 Vinyl cleaner with a cotton terry rag and work it in. It's the strongest thing Meg's has for Vinyl.

I learned a long time ago, get the charcoal interior, it will look clean forever, haha.

I use the Armor-All cleaning wipes, not the leather conditioning ones, works great for the whole interior, I also got some carpet/headliner cleaner that works wonders as well.

I use the leather wipes once a month or so to keep my seats conditioned but they are more of a leather conditioner with a mild cleaner. I used Meg's Interior quick detailer on the dash and console but it's also very mild but doesn't leave any residue like the leather wipe would. #40 is their heavy duty vinyl cleaner and the nap on terry is better at scrubbing than the smooth paper wipes. Also, be careful when cleaning the console, it's painted and if you wear through the paint it will look like it's peeling. This has been an issue for some already.

Yeah, I actually wanted the Charcoal interior (for the same reason you're stating), but I told the sales person the wrong name, so when my car came, I realized I had told him Ash when ordering my car and not Charcoal. Oh well...LOL.

hmm... I use the Mercedes Benz Interior Care Spray... It works pretty well and you can use it on almost every other part of the car like the dash and the window sills (and it smells pretty good too).
however, it still hasn't stopped the armrest from peeling multiple times...

Center Armrest Peeling
Hello all. Newbie to this forum and I was wondering if anybody has this problem. I have an 06 C230 with black interior. When I first got the car, I noticed this white feathery stuff on the center armrest. I thought it was just a build up from elbow rubbing against the armrest so I started to clean it. Before I knew it, the peeling got bigger and bigger. The dealer replaced it twice already since it's still under warranty. So now, I've been avoiding resting my elbow on the armrest to prevent it from happening the third time. But I thought it's kind of stupid since it is depleting the purpose of having an arm rest if I can't rest my arm on it. It sounds like there is a flaw with the actual coating of the arm rest and the dealer just kept replacing it and eventually, I will stop complaining when my warranty expires. Any comments, suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have the light grey interior in my '06 and the center arm rest is fine so far...(knock on wood)... but the grab handle on the drivers door peeled after about 8 months. Replaced under warranty but makes me concerned now that my warranty has run out.
Quality seems to be going down hill in a hurry!

I used to have the same problem for my 02 coupe. It peeled off a year after purchase and was replaced under warranty since then. It didn't happen again. What you should do is to use vinyl/leather cleaner and conditioner as much as possible in order to protect the arm rest. That way, the conditioner would act as a shield for a short amount of time. my 2 cents

2006 interior vinyl peeling, need advise
I had an issue where a small section of my center console was beginning to peel off. Very similar to rubber cement rolling off in to little ***** if that helps give a picture. The dealer replaced in under warranty with a new console area that is not close in color at all my console was a gloss balk the new part is a flat black. They indicated someone had put some from protecting layer on the vinyl and that is what was coming off, so they are only replacing this part as a courtesy. Well the armrest center console is doing the same thing. They have agreed to replace it as well but its on back order. Now the dash area that meets the console is doing the same thing. I am very upset about the gloss levels of the new part not matching as is now its happing elsewhere. I have never used anything but low gloss armorall. I actually work in the auto interior industry as a tier one supplier for Lexus and Toyota (yeah I was a trader with the benz) and know good and well it just a bad vinyl top coat but the dealer is not experts and are giving me a hard time and do not want to color match the components or replace the new area that is coming off, they keep blaming and aftermarket protectant. They do agree armorall would not do it, it is more like a fabric protactant Any thoughts, suggestion?

If your dealer is reluctant to replace faulty interior parts with the correct ones while still under warranty, then I would send the above story to your regional service rep. Call M-B customer service as well....squeaky wheel and all....

They claim they ordered the right parts and the service parts are just off color and nothing they can do, they are claiming to be the little guy caught in the middle and that their warranty claims get rejected from MB and they eat the cost.

Dunno - it might be true, but I have a hard time believing that Mercedes Benz is incapable of supplying a quality replacement part. And YOU'RE the little guy getting the shaft, if the dealer isn't representing your claim well.
I've worked at a few dealers in my past, so I'm inherently suspicious of them...
