Nice, not bad! Just for the hell of it, if it doesnt cost much, try dynoing it with out the wrap. There is some controversy as to whether it is better to wrap or not wrap.

MORE INFO PLEASE
springer,

I share the same sentiments....the M271 header for RHD does not come easy...it is much flexible to have the header for RHD fitted to a LHD vehicle but not vice versa due to the steering...

I was kind of impatient as I have waited for almost several months for it to happen...anyway I am glad with the new customized header that offers me as much as 20 HP gains...

This is interesting....after the rework, I will remove the wrap and see if it is better in terms of gains....thanks for the heads up !

sorry guys, here are the screenshots of the customized M271 headerinstalled in my vehicle...there will be some adjustments done in terms of the bends and diameter. The exhaust specialist claims that the dynoed numbers can be even better with a few tweaks....

Now let's get down to the numbers....As you know that my SLK 200 is equipped with the M271 engine and the stock BHP is 163 at the crank...

With the installation of the Kleemann Pulley coupled with the K-Box, I dynoed my vehicle and the numbers were promising...achieved 154 HP at the wheels which turns out to be approx. 200 BHP at the crank....

The M271 header was custom made by an exhaust freak...After several days of work out, he completed the job and insist that I go for the dyno as he is keen to know the numbers...

Yet I must say is awesome...dynoed with the customized M271 header and it turns out at 172 HP at the wheels, approx 223 BHP at the crank....So we are looking at almost 20 HP gains with the new header...

I feedback the numbers to the exhaust freak and he wants to tweak it by altering some dimensions of the various bends as well as the pipe diameters...he claims that we can achieve at least 28HP gains...

I will be removing the header tomorrow leaving in his good hands to work on it for further improvements....I will post pics of the dyno after his effort in making this successful.

Meanwhile, here is a pic of the header installed in my vehicle...as you can see, it has been wrapped up with the thermal heat material....

Will keep you guys posted....with the latest dyno results after the rework...
I just realized that your numbers are based on a 200k w/ a Kleeman Pulley Kit and K-Box. If you're pulling 223 at the crank with the Kleeman parts and this custom header, that's a 34hp increase at the crank over the 230k (m271).

What I'm curious to see is how the numbers will come out on the (m271) 230k since the 230k runs higher boost than the 200k or if the numbers would be in the same range.

I am puzzled with the same part number when I checked with my MB dealer.

The SLK 200 Kompressor (M271) (RHD) sharing the same header as the C230 Kompressor (M271) (LHD). Does this make any sense ?

Anyway I am impressed with my headers...

drexappeal,

I guess that the only difference between the 200 Kompressor (M271) and the 230 kompressor (M271) is the supercharger and perhaps the ECU that gives the additional boost ?

28HP from a header? That is a lot maybe a better investment then the pully kits?

What brand is it?

FLIP: What up your sleeves? hahah

Thanks

What does this have to do with headers? This thread is about Exhaust HEADERS not Headlights. Not the same thing.
