M271 Header System Arriving Tomorrow
Despite all the time and efforts to get the M271 header system for RHD, it is arriving tomorrow. I will have it installed and perform a dyno run to see how much gains. Will post pics of the dyno as well as the header.

cant wait to see the dyno.
Saw that u 've got the Kleemann set ? have u done a dyno to that as well ? does it perform as it claims in their website. Tks for sharing. Going to get a K box . Going to wait for a while since it's less then 500 KM now. maybe after 1500 KM ..

The M271 header was installed in my vehicle today...The driving experience I had with the new header compared to the stock header, wow ! what a difference.. The ride is smoother and responsive when you go full throttle....The stock manifold was more or less very restrictive and noisier when you go full throttle...it is just as good as saying that the engine chamber is suffocating...
Tomorrow I will be sending my vehicle for dyno and see the what are the gains. After all, I am pleased with the new header....I even had the heat wrap install on my new header...

Can you give us some pics of headers and where you bought them from together with prices.
I have contacted Kleeman but the do not intend to manufacture the headers for M271 in RHD until middle of 2006.

Sorry for the slip as I have been in the holiday festive season mood for the past few days... :p
Now let's get down to the numbers....As you know that my SLK 200 is equipped with the M271 engine and the stock BHP is 163 at the crank...
With the installation of the Kleemann Pulley coupled with the K-Box, I dynoed my vehicle and the numbers were promising...achieved 154 HP at the wheels which turns out to be approx. 200 BHP at the crank....
The M271 header was custom made by an exhaust freak...After several days of work out, he completed the job and insist that I go for the dyno as he is keen to know the numbers...
Yet I must say is awesome...dynoed with the customized M271 header and it turns out at 172 HP at the wheels, approx 223 BHP at the crank....So we are looking at almost 20 HP gains with the new header...
I feedback the numbers to the exhaust freak and he wants to tweak it by altering some dimensions of the various bends as well as the pipe diameters...he claims that we can achieve at least 28HP gains...
I will be removing the header tomorrow leaving in his good hands to work on it for further improvements....I will post pics of the dyno after his effort in making this successful.
Meanwhile, here is a pic of the header installed in my vehicle...as you can see, it has been wrapped up with the thermal heat material....
Will keep you guys posted....with the latest dyno results after the rework...
