Angry not happy with my K40 radar system

When I ordered my C32, I decided to let the dealer put in the top-of-the-line K40 undetectable radar system for $1600. Yeah I know that's a rediculous amount for a radar but I wanted the best.

Now that I have the car I am disappointed with the K40... not only does the radar go off every time I turn on my headlights, but it has considerably less sensitivity than a Valentine 1.

Although it's really nice not having any sort of radar sitting by the rearview mirror, it's just not worth the money. The extra few seconds of warning that I don't get (compared to the V1) is a very big sacrifice. Although the system does come with a laser jammer, laser isn't used often where I live in the New England area. Furthermore, I found that I could buy all this K40 hardware on the internet for about $700. That means my dealer charged me $1000 for installation!!!

Here's what the system looks like:

The K40 is supposedly a great unit and does well in all the tests I have read. The installation looks 1st rate. Very impressive.

i have been debating a v1 install on my new car, but the v1 indicator is much larger, afraid it would look out of place

i think i am just gonna go with a deck of courtesy cards and an fop sticker

have you seen a V1 in person? because i thought they would be huge and bulky but when i saw an actual one i was shocked that it was much smaller than what i thought

The V1 really isn't that big, unless you're comparing it to those cheap ones you find at Circuit City for $50. The true competition like the Passport 8500 is almost the same size.

One of the best things about the V1 is you can get a remote display which shows all the same information as the main unit, but you can put the display where ever you want.

This is how I have the display mounted in my S4... too bad there isn't really a space like this in the Benz.
