Earlier today some jerk parked so close to me that I had to maneuver to open the driver's side door and then maneuver again to get in. While contorting to sit down, my left knee was at an odd angle when I closed the door... and that's when I heard and felt the door speaker grill crack.
After the relevant shock and associated expletives (in dual language, by the way) I realized that the damage is not repairable. Hence I ask my fellow Forum members if this has happened to you and, if so, how expensive was it to have it repaired? I'm pretty handy, so I guess that I can install the part myself and save the $85/hr. labor cost.
Any input would be greatly appreciated... specially part numbers and prices.

Take it back to the dealer and have them replace it free under warranty. They replaced mine that way. Be nice a first, but you may have to tell them what I did, "There's no excuse for a cheap plastic part like this in such a vulnerable area on a Mercedes Benz."

I hated when people park too close to my car
Last week someone parked in front of my car too close that their bumper was touching with mine and dent my front spoiler grille. Luckily the the bumper was left unscratch and I was able to fix my grille. I was so mad that I kick the hell out of the car and left the party. Normally these cars are old and ugly.

I did the same thing, my service advisor would not replace it under warranty. He said it happens all the time and its not covered. He quoted me $180 for replacement and I laughed at him.

There is always plenty of space, at the extreme ends of the parking lot, for avoiding these problems, with other like-minded individuals.
