PROBLEM: Maintance Schedule A changed to B by itself.
I am puzzled. Until this past Sat. my car needed and read on the dash that it is time that the Schedule "A" is done. I have to admit I have been bad about this because it read that it had exceeded it by 3k miles. Later on that afternoon and still today it says that I need Schedule "B" performed and it has been exceeded by 3k miles. It has changed by itself, has this happened to anyone else? I am going to bring the car into the dealer this week to get it serviced, but I am curious to see why and if this has happened to anyone else.

FSS does more than just remind you every X miles. Exceeding your service interval by 3,000 miles means that you now have gone at least 13,000 miles without so much as an oil change, so i am not surprised and even have more faith in FSS now.

If I'm not mistaken the FSS disinguishes between Service A and B based on not just miles but also age of your car. Maybe milage wise you need an A service, but age wise (car sitting in dealer lot or at your house), fluid levels, and exceeding the A service interval the car is calling for a B. Just a guess.

Nola and K lundquist, thanks for the responses. I spoke to the service advisor at the dealer and he said that the FSS changed because I exceeded the miles by 3K on service A and that is why it is saying that I need service "B". This sucks because I just had it done this past March and at $450.00 they are not cheap.
The SA is suggesting that I have the bushings replaced as well. The service will be handled under my extended warranty. Has anyone had this done before and did you notice any difference?

Well the learning here is not to exceed your service interval... 10K miles is quite a bit of a stretch already if you want your car to run forever.

There was a thread on this forum about two weeks ago setting forth a 7 step procedure for resetting your dashboard service indicator yourself. I think it toggles between the A and B services. Probably you could just reset your own service indicator to your "next" service, A or B.
Obviously that won't do anything for the car itself, but it would eliminate that warning for the time being.

Can't remember precisely, but here goes...
Sit in driver's seat and close door. Put the key in the ignition. Turn to position one to bring up the MFD display. Toggle through the screens until the service interval screen appears. Press the reset button until it cycles to the desired service.
If that doesn't work, turn the key to position 2 (run, not start) then press reset.
It's position one or two... that's the only hazy part.
