Unhappy rust on my c230K

anyone has the same problem? I have rust after 3 months/3400 miles on the front driver's fender.
Is it common? Please help

Is this a joke? Unless you have left your front bumper in a salt bath for the last couple months/years, how in the world could you have rust?

covered under warranty. take it to your dealer and they should replace the panel that is rusting. i don't believe it is common. good luck and let us know how it turns out.

They would replace it only if it rusted through, unfortunately.

It depends on what type of rust you are talking about. It is fairly common for new cars to have little specs of industrial fallout embedded in the surface of the paint. Many cars are transported by rail at least part of the way to their destination, both the brakes and rails will emit hot metallic dust that lands on your paint and settles in due to its heat. It then takes a little while before water and oxygen do their thing to create a rust spot. I suspect that is what this is. I had it on my 2000 Volvo S70. The only way I know of to get rid of it is to clay the car. regular polishing even with machines will not do the job. Eggy, is your rust in tiny little specs in a random pattern all over the panel, and does it look like surface rust, if yes and yes, then I would find a good detailer that knows how to work with clay or you could tackle the job yourself. Try getting help from autopia.com or the detailing section of this forum. This is just me, but I would never allow a dealer to work with my paint finish, they typically dole these tasks out to the gopher who has little or no experience, who does more harm then good through ignorance.

I brought it back to the dealership. They said it is not under warranty. They asked me to buy a touch up paint to cover it.
I live in Massachusetts.
I don't like MB!!!
