if someone makes a set of oem quality s-class rear tails that plug right into the 05' w203 without cutting wires or tracing lines or getting adapters to make it work right, i'd pay $400 for that

sorry for posting these pics late. Again, these are non-leds. I followed the wiring of Ekimpay and also changed the bulbs as suggested by EKY. I switched out the larger bulbs with smaller ones (Sylvania #97). Now, the running lights are equal to each other. Also, my fog lights still work. No need to cut/slice wires. I just switched out the 7 pin connector with a 6 pin connector. The green/white wire is not connected to anything.

It does look good. I can't wait to try this Mod out.
But I'm saving for the CF LIP first.

Thanks a lot for the pictures, it has given me reassurance to do this mod. I hope I can install it without any major problems.

What does the Syvania #97 bulb look like? I did a search in google and came up empty.

I got mine from the local autoparts store (Kragen). It shouldn't be that hard to fine. My package was green with "97" clearly visable. Here's an idea what it looks like.....

It always nice to have connections....

Hmm... good thread Glad things worked out well for ya no_wur_e I knew these forums would come through for ya

Are you going to change the light that is on the trunk? Has anyone done that before? (its probably darker than the LEDs?).

General question: Why are there more plugs/pins on the left hand side than the right hand side?

this sounds like a fun mod to do

left hand side has the extra rear fog light...the right side doesnt...unless your w203 is pre 05 or lower you wont need to do this mod...it should just be straight plug in. if its a new 05 or 06 you need to do this mod.

Alright guys finally got everything up and running....lemme say i couldnt have done it without your help guys thanks a lot!

looks sweet fit pretty well, the only thing thats a little off is the left tail light the outer lower bulb is a little stronger than all the other ones...you can kind of notice from the pictures...and i do apologize didnt have a camera ready to go so its a phone camera...sorry! but does anyone have any ideas why its brighter? i noticed some talk about switching bulbs out to smaller ones. Can someone clear that up for me? i didnt really understand exactly what happens there.

Sorry to open up this thread again but I was so confused on the wiring of this when I was installing the S-Class Taillights this morning. I must have took this stupid pins out like 3 times. I almost screwed up the pins and would have had to strip the wires and connect them by hand.

Anyway, I got them to work after listening to this combination of wiring:

Driver
1. grey/black
2. grey/blue
3. black/red
4. black/white
5. black/yellow
6. brown
X. green/white

Passenger
1. black/blue
2. grey/yellow
3. black
4. black/green
5. grey/red
6. brown

I will give you guys some pics when I get a chance. But I really like the look compared to the stock setup. Oh yeah, I'm using the NON-LED version.

Anyone got a part no for the 7 pin connector? Hopefully it's written somewhere on the connectors that some of you have swapped out already!!!

I'm basically trying to do the opposite, change the connector from 6 to 7 pins. I have a 2002 W203 C320 Sedan and want to upgrade to the 05 tail lights. I have the new original 05 tails but they're 7 Pin & my current connector is 6 pin.

I'm guessing I can just swap the 6 pin connector for a 7 pin, right?

I really want both running lights to light up like on the 05 models, should this work on an '02? I was hoping this would be a really easy mod

Just installed smoked s-tails, this particular set of tweezers made popping out the wires much easier than fiddling with tiny screwdrivers. Its like it was made for the job.

I bought it at a local Rite-Aid drug store, look in the feminine manicure section.

Lacross "Precise Tweeze" #71980.
