I may be looking into buying a C240 6-speed soon. To all you guys who have one, how is the acceleration? Does it feel slow, or does it feel a little quick? How has the reliability been on your cars? Any problems? Also how long would it take for me to get my car if I were to order it? I've heard 2 months, but im not sure.

I test-drove a C240 6-speed manual in September.
It felt smooth and solid. Didn't seems slow or too fast, but I didn't want to push the engine.
Hope this helps somewhat,
VoyagerDude

2002 C240 6-spd (ret)
I've had my 2002 C240 6-spd since mid-August. There's been some negative talk about the C240 acceleration, but I think mainly the auto trans version. I think the acceleration, especially "off the line", is quick -- does not feel sluggish. There may have been one or two times when at the lower end of the torque peak (i.e. < 3K rpm) that I might have wanted to downshift an extra gear, but I would not characterize it as slow.
I've had no problem with the car so far (3700 miles), and as VoyagerDude said, it's rock solid. I would think you could order and take delivery in 2-3 months. Depends on if your dealer can speed the order by changing an order he already has in the system.

To me, the diff between the stick and the auto is night and day. From a straight numbers point, its probably not a huge difference, but the stick feels much faster because there is not throttle lag and you tend to keep the engine in its power band more.
Its still the slowest car that I own, but I don't consider it slow. It is certainly not overpowering, but the power is more than adequate for what it is, i.e. a 4 door semi-luxury sedan, that is a little sporty, but certainly leans more towards the luxury side.
As opposed to, say, a 325i, which is definately much faster (the stick 325i feels like a sports car, the stick 330i feels like a rocket!)
I am happy with the power of the C240 6 speed. (More is ALWAYS better, but I it is what I expected and am happy with). That being said, if a C320 6 speed were available, I would have sprung the extra few thousand for the extra power.
