Nope. The 'new' v6 powered C230 is actually slower than both of the supercharged versions that preceded it. The original C230 Coupe with the M111 engine was only a few tenths off the pace of the C320, but the new V6 version is like a second and a half slower to sixty.

 

A second and half vs a few tenths? Somehow that doesn't sound right. Aren't the torque figures similar but higher hp with teh v6? What about the roll ons? That is the true test IMHO

there's maybe less than a second difference. Personally I would take a 06 C230 instead of the 05 C230k. For couple reason, 1. the exhaust note from the V6 is way better and engine's much smoother. 2. when tuning parts are available for the new 4 valve per cyclinder the 230/280/350 can all share the parts which will be much easier to modify. Only tuning kit for the 230k's 1.8 kompressor is from Kleemann or RENNtech.

 

I bet he cheated by puttnig stickers on his car. Everyone knows that stickers cut at least a second off of 0-60 times

 

Did you read the message? Compared to the 05, no. The 05 is about a half second faster. The 02 is faster than both the 05 and 06 cars by quite a bit.

 

The Type R sticker is good for 40bsHP.

AMG 'sticky' emblem is good for 40hours of online ridicule. Take the '0' of the 230, and really get some power. No one will ever mess with that C23.

The little 6 in the 06 C230 is a nice engine. Its in there for marketing reasons, not performance reasons. With just about every other entry level luxo sedan offering 6 cylinder engines on the base car, MB's four cylinder was easy to point to and ridicule, just because its a four. More on anything is always better, right? Not in this case.

The 05 car is somewhat quicker and gets much better mileage. But you guys get to brag its a V6 and talk up the refinement and that stuff. Enjoy.

 

The jet like sound of the supercharger is quite nice as well.

RIght now, none exist. Based on how much came out in the many years the old V6 was in service, I wouldn't hold your breath. If you want the performance, get the 280 or the 350.

The M271 is a dead end for modding.

 

2006C 230 transmission interchangeable with a 2007 c320
