hence the double arrows for washer fluid and one arrow for one wipe as depicted on the stalk.

btw, the horn in the video is pretty cool.

Maybe he just didn't know to push it in all the way, but let me just say if his car is anything like mine was it will take three trips to the dealer, 4 washer pumps and 3 stalks to actually get it to work. I hope not.

CORRECT! I actually hd the same problem, for a day or two after getting the car I thought the spray didn't work. Don't feel that bad.

I second Bunelleschi! You've been a good sport about it, but definitely glad it wasn't anything more serious than others have mentioned they've experienced.

Well I was having a friend pick me up from the airport in my car and I had a message on my phone asking where the "key" was for my car because all there was was a "key fob"...I guess genius couldn't figure out that the "key fob" was the smart key. Doesn't it kinda look like a key? I guess when you are used to seeing a regular key the smart key COULD just look like a key fob...

But at that point I was scared that this person was driving my car!

Sometimes there is a learning curve when dealing with the unfamiliar.

99% of the car that I've driven it takes me 2-3 mins to know all the controls. Anyways, speaking of wiper stalk, I've had Valet attendant turned on my wiper dry wiping the windshield looking for the headlight.

I actually laughed not because it sounded stupid, but because I had the same problem when I first got my car! I didn't push hard enough, either..

Turning on the fog lights.. now that's something I figured out like last week and I got the car in August! Haha.

This one isn't as bad because I don't know of any other type of car that has the foglight switch like a benz. Most cars have a separate foglight switch. So if you've never owned a benz or driven one before you owned your car, it would be an easy thing not to figure out (especially if you don't RTFM).

Thing is, if you have driven a benz before and/or owned a benz before, that is pretty embarassing (unless of course you're like my parents, who've driven/owned benzos since the late 70's and just barely found out about the foglight switch when I taught them 2-3 years ago - granted they're in their mid 60's).

In that case I would suggest that you wean them of the Mozart Kugeln. It may take some time due to the addictive nature. But remember; time heals all. (j/k)

Well, my question is even worse!!

Ok, hold on to your chair...I just bought my 2002 C230 Coupe on Tuesday 1/24, and I have no idea how to open the FUEL DOOR!!! I need to figure it out pretty quick as I only have a 1/4 tank left. I also can't figure out how to open the hood! Yes, I am a girl, but hey, I just moved up from a Chevy Cavalier! Gimme a break. (truthfully, I haven't really looked too hard, it just wasn't obvious at first glance). Can anyone save me from having to call the dealer?
Thanks!

1) No excuse for not reading the manual or STFF. Gender not withstanding.
2) In the spirit of cooperation may I therefore present you with at least one pic on how to open the fuel door.

I tried that already, but it doesn't work! Ha, ha. But it's not in the manual. It has how to open the fuel door manually from the inside, but nothing else. And, uh, what's the STFF? Anyway, I'll check it out in the morning.

That's because most Japanese cars use the left stalk for the lights and the right for the wipers. My wife's Toyota is that way. On her BMW the wiper controls are on the right and the lights are on the left dash, similar to the Mercedes.

My Ford truck had the lights just like the Mercedes. Twist for on and pull for fog.

You are right! How could they leave it out of the '02 manual?

Unlock car, go to passenger side rear quarter panel, push open filler door.

I've never driven a Ford truck before, so that's my bad. Cool though, cuz I like how the foglight switch is setup.

Hahaha, opening the fuel door took me a while too, i was sitting in the car at the gas station for a while reading the manual like an idiot!!!! You simlpy push the door at the end closest to the front window, and wala, it pops open (the reason for my confusion, on my BMW, you push the opposite side )

I cant seem to ge my car into drive. I look all over and dont see the D for drive. And the shift knob wobbles in all different directions. I think I have to go to the dealer to get that fixed.

I honestly did not expect this thread to go on this long. I figured there would be about three or four responses with RTFM or STFF and that would be it.

Well, you know those BMW drivers,. Always doing things backwards (opening fuel door), no torque (windshield washer stalk), etc. :p
