The first time I saw it, I thought, no, cant be, probably some ricer sticking on stupid stickers. But then I saw another one a few months later and looked into it. Yes, certian years you could get a Prelude with 4 wheel steering. I honestly was very surprised.
Nissan had a car with it too. Wasn't it te 240Sx or something? Mitsu too, IIRC. All those cars with 4ws went down as failures. Nobody wanted to pay for the extra little handling benefit, and so I hear, the cost to maintain them was considerable. GM resurrected the 4WS idea for big pickups, and even though it made a little more sense this time around, it was still a massive failure in the marketplace. Theyve all been discontinued. If there's any 4WS cars still around, I'm sure its a passive system with a very minor toe adjustment.

Thats pretty much what I was saying the whole time.

4WD is too safe for fun, but when you know how to drive it right, you can knock off some time off your laps. You have to go against your instincts in when to brake and when to gas. I decided not to go with 4WD because, when you want to drive spirited, or just plain crazy, you put alot of stress on the center diff. I already had one go bad on me, and I didnt want to deal with that with a new car, and dont want to deal with it for the longrun.

Agreed.

I'll try to race a Prelude with my gf's C230 and report back ! Hopefully, I can line up with one.

I've driven my C230 for a little over a year and half now. Before I got this car, I drove a 92 Civic HB with over $20k in mods(engine/suspension/exterior/audio mods). Honestly it just depends on what you are looking for. I mainly sold my Honda due to high theft in California. I loved my Honda, but it was too risky keeping it. It went through 3 break ins, 1 theft (stolen and stripped/dumped on highway), and 1 accident (hit and run by another guy). Honda's are reliable cars, but theyre too much of a liability in my opinion. As for speed wise, I would put my money still on the Prelude. It weighs a lot lighter and the engine produces more HP than the C230 1.8 SC. But for comfort and luxury standards, I would stick the C230. It's more quiet, the interior is a lot nicer, and the ride is smoother.

Here are some old pics of my old Civic.

If you test drive the automatic 230k then I think you'd be better off with the Prelude. I had a 230k loaner for 3 days and I hated every moment of it! If it weren't for the free gas I would have driven my Integra instead. I hope I don't offend anyone but that's just how I felt. I had no passing power whatsoever!

Actually the '97 Prelude SH manual only weighs about 140 lbs less and only makes 6 more HP but makes 36 lb-ft less torque than my 2005 C230K 6MT.
