New Project!?
I'm about to order the radiator grille for my coupe, and I want to paint it chrome... would chrome spray paints work? or any other suggestions?

Dear gawd man...no wonder you get savaged about that AMG badge.
Chrome is an electroplating process, there's no way to get Chrome by 'painting it'.

I hate to tell you this, but there are chrome spray paints that work very well. PPG has a chrome paint that was actually used to paint an entire car for an auto show. West Cost Choppers is in a commercial where they have a chromed pick up truck. It does exist!!!! Not that what this guy is trying to do is right though!!!

I saw the chrome spray paint in a local auto store here thats why I was wondering if it works
I was looking at doug's pics and remember that he painted his radiator grill citron, and i was thinking if anyone painted their radiator grill chrome

Why would anybody want to paint the radiator grill chrome??? The radiator grill is a metal part and it would need to be electroplated with chrome. If you really did in fact paint the radiator grill, the paint would melt right off and start dripping underneath your car. You can't even see the radiator grill from the front of the car since the plastic grill and front bumper cover it. You must be confused with the plastic mesh at the bottom of the bumper. CitronC230K aka Doug painted the plastic mesh grill at the bottom of his '05 bumper, not the radiator grill.
If you really do want to paint the plastic mesh at the bottom of the bumper, then you should consider reading CitronC230K's threads. Chrome bumper mesh would look garish IMO.
Outland is right about needing to electroplate the RADIATOR grill...and this isn't a new project since Doug has already done this to his Citron C230K coupe with '05 front bumper.

Ive seen the 'chrome' effect paints. It looks more like polished aluminum, than chrome, if you ask me. At anyrate, Its not something that youre gonna do at home, and certainly not on that small of a part.
