However, I'm still skeptical this would have been the method. The software and pully are far cheaper ways to limit HP. A cast iron manifold is standard nowdays, and the EPA loves it, not to mention the NVH boys. So, all things being equal, meaning cast turd manifolds on all the engines, v6 and 1.8, its likely they had to 'work harder' to get the 1.8 up to its current 189HP. Do you see what I'm saying?

Its far more likely, given the goals of great fuel economy, cheap construction, and decent performance, that choices were made to optimize the engine in a way that its hi specific output was the result of large(for a factory setup) amounts of boost...not high flow head designs, headers, agressive cams or high RPM operation. When the boost is on, the engine performs decently, without it, its a bit of a slug, but the fuel economy is excellent. High Flow head and headers are 'overhead' that you pay for even when youre not using them. The supercharger is 'on demand' power....youre not paying the price(in fuel consumption) for it, when its not being used.

If the headers help...great. Lets see some real numbers on a before and after dyno, and how much does it cost?

And if this guy is that good, when can I get one for my M111
I agree with you that the manifold was not there only choice of limiting the power. But if you look at it, moving the down pipe a half inch outward would have made a better flow through the manifold. MB obviously wanted to keep the engine within a similar BHP as the M111, and be around the BMW 325, but yet still below the C320.

And you still doubt the numbers? slkfan posted before and after #'s and showed a 20 HP gain from the headers. He didnt do a baseline before the kleemann kit, but he did before and after for the headers. So, if I could get 20HP, I would be happy with that, its the best single mod hp gain seen yet on the M271, and is fairly easy to install, and does not require ECU flashing.

Dyno numbers posted from this company would be the ultimate deciding factor for me. I want to see this mod done on an M271 on a C230 with before or after numbers. Please post.

What are the next steps to make this happen?
I want this part and mgheaders needs volume to make another batch.

Several members have already purchased the remaining inventory.
Can someone who already purchased post details on fit and installation?

Ok...now the numbers are getting a little more believable. 16HP, not the 25 as claimed on this thread.

It seems your first pair made more ponies (2 HP), but this set makes 30 ft-lbs more over stock (dont know how much his[slkfans] last set made). Still, 16 HP is not bad for the price compared to everything else thats available to us M271 owners.

This is kind of off topic, but did the new Spearco Intercooler do anything for the car? or mostly for show?
