How about start a new thread for "MGheader" headcount? See how many people are interested?

Maybe someone on our side of the world should volunteer to dyno test these headers so we can confirm them on OUR ACTUAL engines first - before assuming the numbers on the dynos on the SLK200 (2.0L engine) - which somewhat rollercoaster - indeed provide the same gains? (Whew that was a run-on).

Hell, i'll volunteer to test a prototype? Anyone else?

You may want to check out the other forum... flip is real close.
There could be a solution closer than you think. Lots of development already done...

I am interested in headers.. big-time.

Headers so far so good, no leaks . I enjoy the torque.... as well as the colour of the stainless steel when it has been run in for a while.

M271 headers from mgheaders are on sale in ebay...

I'm interested in this header also....if it does provide noticable gains. Here's the ebay link:

I'm a bit confused, but aren't these headers made for the 200 (M271) and not the 230 (M271)?

Also, aren't these for the RHD cars and still to be established whether these can be made for LHD cars?

Fully agree. I also think it's going to be hard to sell a $650 item with 0 feedback and coming from Singapore...unless it's a person from the board that knows, I'm talking about a random ebay user.

Good luck with the auction, nice to see MB parts on the net.

Gents,

Thanks for the reminder. Absolutely, a confusion between LHD and RHD header is obvious for sure. This must be clearly illustrated in the auction. Have inform the seller to make the necessary amendments.

Thanks for the heads up !

What I was saying was ship it with a flange and we can weld the flange and use the stock exhaust with cat, Count me in I want one!!!!!!!!!!

czander475,

That is exactly I pointed out. The M271 header comes with a flange and to have it installed in the LHD vehicles, all that is required is to have a flange welded to the stock exhaust cats.

But I believe some dislike the stock cats and prefer a high flow cats, this will be a complete solution with the downpipes....

so there will be 2 kinds of audiences here:

1. Change of the stock headers ONLY
2. Change of the stock headers as well as the cats

How many will there be for option 1 and 2 ?

Option 2.
It would be messy to cut the one piece manifold to retain a more restrictive stock cat. Remove the 1-piece stock manifold+cat and replace with 2-piece after market header+high flow cat.

I'm all for option 2 I just want to be able to just bolt it on and be able to my stock manifold for those future smog checks.

Unless someone can tell me if it is convenient to locate a exhaust workshop around your area or a couple of blocks away...
I have an exhaust shop right down the road. I would be willing to take the RHD and see about fitting it on a LHD. I see no proble. What would make it supper easy is an additional flange and a small say 3 inch long pipe attached so the exhaust shop has solething to work with. Hook me up I would love to have your product and I do not see the rhd to lhd being a big deal I would love to be your tester!!!!

This whole mgheaders thing sounds awful fishy to me. A company nobody has heard before, claiming to make a set of headers cheap as all hell, dynos with lots of inconsistencies...I'll pass. Looks like I'm getting the CarLAB headers. Great company, great design, great price, proven gains, done deal.

So it's been awhile since MGheader last talked about the header for M271 engine. Whats the latest update?

I still want this upgrade first before I get the powerchip ECU.

The whole thing sounded way too sketchy for me, so I decided to go with the CarLAB headers. Should be here in a couple weeks!

Look at the post date (4/19)...a month and a day before my sedan was totalled...almost four months ago. I was able to sell my spot in line to another guy when I wasn't sure about the future of my car and whether or not I'd be getting another M271.
