Update on my car - 2005 Digital Climate control etc..
So the Digital Climate control works! Here's a pic. Steve also reprogrammed the car to have the "REST" feature.
I also had the TPMS and seat belt warning on the display activated. As well as the chirp for the alarm.
Thanks again to Steve, Dean, and Wanda.

Wow, that looks really clean... I'm now very interested in that mod. Any drawbacks from the switch to digital? I heard that the up-down buttons for the temperature had a bit of a lag. I also heard that the actual "temperature" isn't at all accurate. The original analog climate control has a low-temp of 64 degrees, right? But your digital shows the driver's side to be set at 61 degrees. How does that work?

It's funny that I had REST and a digital CC on my 1997 w202, but not on my 2005 w203. But, now there's hope!

I also thought TPMS could not be set because Steve didn't have the proper upgrade to his StarDiagnose. So when he asked if I wanted it activated, I was in a bit of shock.. and of course said yes.
There aren't any drawbacks in my opinion. I don't notice any lag with the buttons, nor do I have any information about the accuracy of the readout. The "Lo" setting is 60 degrees.
Also note, I cannot use the right side knob for the fan direction. I suppose the cars which came stock with this unit allow separate fan directions for passenger and driver? Anyone know? But in any case, I did not have that feature to begin with, and having the digital display is an upgrade enough...hence I don't consider this a drawback.
In order for the REST feature to work, Steve had to use his StarDiagnose to reprogram something. REST also runs the auxilly fan to keep the car a bit cooler when it's hot.
The only problem he ran into was programming my pass. mirror to tilt down when in reverse. Because I don't have the memory seat option, the actual mirror swings outwards instead of down. Steve said I would have to reprogram the window module or somethng with someone who has the memory seat option.....if I remember what he said correctly.
Hope that answers everyone's questions.

Nice...I'm in for the digital climate control, just gotta find out what it costs.
I too contacted Steve (talked with his sister, I believe) and she said the TPMS couldn't be done on '05's, but guess they can now.
Steve, East Coast trip please!
Anyone got the cost on the digital climate control + installation?
EKY- Can you tell us what Steve charged you?
Thanks,
Lowell

our stardiag wasn't willing to do the TPLossS setting at first but that has been sorted out...
as for the auto tilting pass side mirror when reversing: the tilt dirtection has to be stored with the help of the memory driver seat settings which EKY's car doesn't have...at this moment the mirror just does whatever the door control module does as default setting (as that DCM was new when we installed it on our last trip to hawaii) and is rather useless as it swings out.
Having a DCM that has the tilt angle already programmed would cure that problem and make the auto tilt when reversing usefull on his non memory seat equiped car.
as for another eastcoast trip...not very likely...work in california is piling up (dealership work) so that will probably be taking up most of our 2006 time.
greetingz,

Steve-
What is the cost of the digital climate control unit + install, as well as activating the TPMS in a '05 C230 SS?
Could you just do a quick 1-day layover on the East Coast (Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, Philadelphia area) on your way back to Europe?
Thanks in advance.

Steve-
Even though your not coming to the East Coast, out of curiosity, what is the cost for the digital unit and what to you charge to install/reprogram the system?
Thanks
