2004 C230 Kompressor - price?

I'm looking at a Starmark CPO 2004 C230K for my wife. 37k miles, auto, brilliant silver with black cloth interior, pano roof, trip computer, 17's. Overall in very good to excellent condition. No CD player.

Car is located at Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach, CA.

What kind of price should I be looking to get this car at? Dealers current offer is $22,750, but they admitted to having more room in that number.

Thanks!

That's probably way above what they paid for it (in a trade). Put it this way, when I was looking at a 2004 C32 to trade my car in for, they were offering to purchase majority of the car $2,000 under what I owed (roughly 22k at the time). I only had 19 thousand miles on it at the time. And I have a sedan.

So figure, with a car that has twice as many miles, is a coupe and not that many options from what it sounds like, I would say, ask for $15k and go from there. 22-23 is WAYYY over what it's worth.

I think the price is reasonable from a dealer, maybe negotiate down to 18-20K if you can. Consider that a new one (if you can still find a 2005) is about 30K or about 25K after negotiating, a 2 year old one for 18-20K is reasonable. I sold my 2002 for about 16K about 18 months ago with the same mileage but that was a stick shift and it didn't have the pano roof and it was black and that was a private party sale, not a Starmarked car from an MB dealer. I think I easily could have pulled in 18K+ if it was an automatic and had the pano roof. If you like leather, some companies make a leather kit for that car for well under 1K.

I bought a 2002 with auto, leather, etc. Pretty much every option except nav and heated seats. It had 26k miles, i got it for $19,500 certified. Paid extra for 2 more years on the warranty.

Found one...

Purchased the following car last night from MB in Long Beach.

'04 (early model year) C230K Coupe, black, 10k miles (!), ash cloth interior, CD changer, panorama roof, automatic. Certified Pre-Owned, so warranty lasts for another 2 years and 9 months. Regular maintenance included.

$19,750. Took advantage of the 2.9% financing for 36 months from MB Financial. I think I left a little money on the table but I only went up $500 in my offer and they came down over $4000 from theirs (and over $5000 from the "sticker"). Had to do the usual stand up, start to walk out, etc. etc. etc.

Would have liked HomeLink, but only saw it on one car we considered. Also would have liked Nav, but didn't see it on any car we looked at buying. Leather...I like it but my wife likes cloth so no big deal to not have that. Otherwise, it fit our requirements perfectly.
