You should be able to do it. For me i have to hold the unlock button down and get really close to the driver side door about 5 feet from it. doesnt work too well when youre far away.

That feature is done with IR which means the key fob must be pointed at and be within about 12 feet of the receiver (small square red plastic window on the front door handle). Or it's broken (either door receiver or the key).

only on one of my keys does the windows work well from about 3-4 feet. The other key i have to be 2 inches away. I do not know if it has to do with battery or key fob.

The key needs to be pointing to the door handle sensor in order to use this feature, also hold down on lock to roll-up and on unlock to roll-down.

That's nothing!
If I place a cell to cellphone call to my wife while she is standing by my car, I could aim the key at my phone while she points her phone at the door reciever & the windows will open or close depending which button I pressed & held. could even pop the trunk - All via cellular!

occassionally i park my car near my building where the security cameras have a good view of my car. when i walk into the building near the guard station and i point to my car, the car will NOT unlock or lock. However, if i go around the guard station to the back where they have their monitors and i point on the screen with my car, the car WILL unlock and lock. i do not know why since i thought cameras are only recieving info and not transmitting anything through the lens.

well, it could be possible through cellular more so than my experience since the cell phone has both recieving/transmitting ends that are obvious to me.

Weird!

The unlock/lock is done by radio waves...hence theoretically i believe THAT could be transfered through a cell phone, but the windows up/down feature is infrared meaning light...which of course cant be transfered through radio waves like a cell phone. You are probably using some other stationary object as an antenna to amplify your signal. For example...walk to a distance where they transmitter doesn't work and then put the transmitter under your chin touching your skin...your head acts as a sort of antenna...it works, but of course its your freakin' head so i wouldn't rely on this in a life or death situation!
