Some road debris took out my

foglight. Man was I pissed. I noticed it was out the other day so I stopped by TrackAuto (or whatever they call it now) to pick up a new bulb. By the way the manual specified either H7 or somethign called HB4. Picked up a pair of H7, walked outside, crouched down and saw that the glass was broken (plus the bulb looked different)

awwwwwwww sheeeeeeeeit!!!

average price to replace the glass? And what kinda bulb to get?

Cool. I thought I'd be looking at a 100 plus dollar repair. Plus I KNOW I've got a spare 9006 or 2 kicking around the house

I use the actual 3M product - no effect on light intensity or pattern, and not noticeable on the foglights, either.

I do about half of my cars' foglights/driving lights with it....

I bought some after I went through my third light in like a month (different cars) -- that was enough for me!!!

I still don't use it on the hood, but I do use it on the front of the rear fenders on a few cars as well.

It really is good stuff. And it will save your foglights many, many times....

do a thread search on "foglights" and "3m film" -- there have been a couple of threads on this over the last month or two. On at least one of them I believe that folks posted where they got theirs from.

I got mine so long ago that I don't even remember where - have a roll in each garage....

The fog lenses usually crack more from flexing of the bumper cover, you can tell by looking closely at the lense to see if there's a rock chip along the crack line. Mine cracked when a hubcap came across the freeway and whacked the bumper cover on the passenger side. When I bought the lens at MB the parts man made a comment about "people's parking habits cause these lenses to break and it happens often". The film couldn't hurt but the lense is only about $20.

once again, those are for the regular foglights... if you have AMG fog lights, you're S.O.L. and you will have to fork up a nice amount of money...

i switched out my entire car with eurodezign lights 8500 k (blue) amazing lights let me tell you. anyways. the fog lamps are HELL if you dont have a lift. I cant even fit half of my body under the car. The fogs are annoying. And I would NEVER take it to the dealer, lol they charge 105 to change fog lamps without bulbs factored in. They basically charge 1 hour labor for a 10 min job. LOL

so ya, i finally did it myself. (had to get a lift etc) came out beautiful.

my entire car is HID halogen. and yes these bulbs look exactly like HID xenon. so bright and clear. the look daytime is blue if you look head on. if you walk up to my car the lights are blue, also the parking bulbs are blue when on...very classy and nice.

ill post some pics later. im working on my rims right now.
