Hi

I am getting my new car at end of august and I am wondering about the same thing. I was thinking of a screen that drops down from the roof linked to a dvd player in the glovebox, I also have comand so maybe I can use the aux in in the glovebox.
The headrests look too small to fit screens. I want it so that the kids can watch dvd in the back.

Anyone have any ideas.

someone slapped on some E Class headrests with some 5" monitors i believe from www.savv.com the headrests are boxy, but you can still use the headrest monitors.... you could put tv screens in the visors.... that could be another plan.

This is Danny's installation of the monitors.

with the comand thing, i company does work like this, they put video feed into the COMAND screen. www.nav-tv.com, they havent perfected the process yet, but the service will be availible soon, right now, i believe the S Class COMAND's can have this tv feature done. not sure though how much, its pricey i know.

What's the allure of putting monitors on a headrest on a coupe? Is it just for show or do you really have passengers in the back seat that often? I can understand watching TV to get news and stuff but do you actually watch movies while you drive? I'm not a safety freak, just too practical I guess. We used to have a TV/VCR in our Suburban and the kids got motion sickness watching the screen. I can see it as a toy on a sedan for the kids.

BTW, in Europe you can get a TV tuner for Command, unfortunately I don't think it will work in the US.

Just want the center-console screen so I can play PS2 with my friends whenever I'm bored. Plus it should be visible enough from the back seat if DVDs are being played. I wonder how difficult it'd be to wire up the sound system to support 5.1 DTS surrout sound...
