C320 vs STi
Whats everyone heres opinion of the WRX STi. There about the same price as my car but i dont really know how they hold up after a few years. If anyone got any opinions on the topic or if anyone in the south eastern area that wants to trade thier 04-05 STi for a 02 C320 let me know.

STi's gonna be a much better car to drive compare to the C320 performance wise. Luxury wise the C320 still wins.
Different car for different ppl. If I'm getting a second car the STi, EVO, E36 M3, C43, etc are all in my book, but the first two wouldn't be on the list if I only have 1 car.

I'd take the c320 over a STi. I think the 320 has enough power and the luxury is definitelly a plus. The STi definitelly has the most harshest ride of any car i've been in. Test drove it in L.A. and i was asbolutely miserable. The car is way to jumpy and the ride much to harsh. It's probably a great drive on the open roads but if you're going to be doing commuting in this car I would recommend the c.

I wouldn't have an STi for all the tea in China. Opinions vary, but in my view, it's ugly, looks like it's a factory rice rocket built with a bunch of unrelated parts.
The STi is almost universally disliked for its ride, as noted in some of the posts above. It's like a convertible... everyone wants to have one... for about 15 minutes. Once the novelty wears off (quickly), you are left with an unenthusiastic 2-4 year commitment to an ill-mannered car of questionable quality.
This comparison comes up every 3-4 months. I've never understood why anyone would realistically compare these cars. They're like night and day.

my personal opinion
EVO MR > STI
STI > C320
it all depends if you want a sporty car that attracts or a car to go from point a to b, yet comes w/ luxery and mercedes benz logo
if you want a mercedes. than C320
and it is really really hard to keep a evo or sti stock... you WILL end up doing stuff to it!! lol

2002 C320
Thing is an STi stands out in a crowd whereas the C320 just goes queitly into the massive pool of other C Classes. I don't know. Whats the price comparison on the two cars? I think a 04-05 STi is about the same as 02 C320.

Ran the CDI versus and STI
Yeah, of course I got beat. But the STI had to work for it.
But not by much (I'm talking 1/2 carlenth to 60 MPH).
The STI had aftermarket exhaust. My windows were open, and that thing sounded THROATY!
The STI has a really nastry growl, its very unique. Compared to rice, it sounds so damn nice.
It was a very unique sounding race, the CDI just spools up and whistles like a jet on takeoff, and the STI was just screaming bloody murder, quite a neat sounding mix.

I personally don't like the STi... I would get the EVO if all I wanted was performance... I wouldn't change my ride for either STi or EVO... but if I had more garage space...

Too many to list
If I wanted pure racing power that is affordable, the EVO MR is my choice. I think the STi looks ulgy...especially the grill. The c-class can't even be compared to the STi or EVO in terms of power, quickness, and handling but for luxury, look, and status symbol....MB all the way.

Sti / Evo Vs. C320
I think it's a matter of what your looking for like someone posted if speed and not luxury and style is what your looking for go Evo, I have a friend in Edison driving around as a daily driver with an Evo (600 to the rear wheel) thats the claim Azevedomotorsport in Raway Nj. makes and I believe based on that shops work!
Ps.> To each it's own but I enjoy the ride of my c320 over these's car's.

I just bought an STI today. I used to own a C32 and my father had an S600 which I drove on a daily basis. The STI is far more fun than my C32 and our S600 ever was. I don't think I could ever go back to an MB after the STI.
To those of you questioning it's looks, for some reason the pictures of the 06 STI's don't look all that great, however in person they're incredibly sleek and very aggressive looking. When I first saw the pictures of the 2006 STI's I was disgusted by them and thought Subaru made a huge mistake, then I saw one in person and it was love at first sight. Every single owner of an 06 STI feels the exact same way, ask them what they thought when they first saw the pictures and they'll tell you they were disgusting and hated how it looked, but when you see it in person it's completely different.
You cannot compare a C320 and an STI, hell you can't even really compare a C32/C55 and an STI. Two completely different markets, however for 2007 Subaru is coming out with the STI Limited, which is a more subdued looking STI without the rear wing and a more refined luxurious interior, etc.
I can understand why many of you wouldn't want an STI, the looks of it is very over the top to say the least and the aggresiveness of the ride, acceleration, etc. it isn't all that different to it's WRC counterpart - Great for the track, and in some peoples opinion bad for everyday driving. If I was a 35 year old professional working a 9-5 job with a suit and tie, I probably wouldn't have bought an STI and would have gone with something else, but i'm only 20 years old and the car is everything I want and then some.
To be honest, i'm sick of european autobahn cruisers. Yes the STI is harsh, yes it's aggressive, yes it's loud. It's also the most fun you can possibly have for 30 grand, unless you live in Carson City, Nevada

I'm surprised that a community as sophisticated about modding as this one is would be so bothered by the exterior looks of the STi and Evo. Just change a body panel or two and they go from boy racer to stealthy beast.
A friend bought an Evo a few months ago. He's in his 40s and needs to hang with venture capital types for work (i.e., looks out of place with rally car). He kept it really simple -- just had the dealer remove the dreaded wing and put body colored plastic tabs on the holes in the trunk. Looks fine and car's a rocket.
AMG transmissions and ride would still be superior though!

The STi will have less electronic gremlins than the C though. I love MB, but damn its electronics are POS'.....nothing EVER works correctly for a long period of time.
