Recommend a roof spoiler?

Hey guys, well other than wheels my next mod will be a roof spoiler to match my C55 spoiler- other than the one on Formymerc.com what flows nicely with the C55's? I really do like the lorinser type spoiler and may go with that but want some feedback from you guys. thanks!

Word of caution 'bout the rieger roof spoiler. There have been people that had install problems with this one.

I have the Rieger one, I didn't have any problems with the install. I kind of prefer the Lorinser one though. Looks more sporty.

Ant, you must've had a good body shop do it, cuz I know people have had problems with making sure it stays attached. Looks good though. Subtle, but sleek!

Actually just had my friend, who owns a bodyshop paint it, and I installed it myself. It was hard getting the adhesive they supplied on and aligning it, but it worked out ok. Fitting was perfect, just aligning it was the hard part, used the blue masking tape to hold one side down.

I had a Lorinser one...

Unfortunatly mine was stolen off of my car at the HP Pavillion a couple of months ago during a Sharks hockey game. I had backed my car into the parking spot so i never saw the back of the car.

When I went out to my garage the next morning I noticed something was missing... the only reminder of it was the black Beta Link adhesive goo on my rear window.

I see. That's what a lot of people had a hard time with, but if you got it to work then that's cool. Looks good.

That sucks! Was it a Lorinser-style or an actual Lorinser? Either way, still would've been pissed off as I'm sure you were.

Did you ever replace it? I was selling my Lorinser Style roof spoiler (after I got the MH-Dezent roof spoiler) for a while, but nobody wanted it (I guess, cuz it was color matched to my car and nobody wanted to go through the hassle of re-painting). Eventually, someone bought it for cheap off ebay.

It was an actual Lorinser one, not a replica.

I have not replaced it yet as I have been preoccupied with some suspension work first.

Oh man. That's definitely not cool. Sorry to hear 'bout that. Either way, concentrating on the suspension is a good thing!

Bossman, Rieger is nice. Obviously, I've made my final choice, since I took off my "lorinser-style" one for my current one.

But for you, it depends if you want it more subtle (Rieger would be in that category) or if you want it to stand out more (Lorinser roof spoiler can be seen more from a profile). I thought that my roof spoiler would stand out a lot more than my Lorinser-style, but everytime I look at it, I feel like it's more subtle (maybe I'm just used to it).

Hope that helps your decision.

How is the roof spoiler attached? Double-sided tape or epoxy?

Depends on which one. Rieger and mine require adhesive glue of some sort because they clamp to the back portion of the roof before draping over the window. Doesn't need to be epoxy, but something strong enough to hold it in place. I'm not sure what my body shop used, but whatever it is, it worked really well.

The Lorinser, I believe is double sided tape only (but very strong double sided tape).

Actually, the Lorinser wing kit comes with Beta Link adhesive. It's a black goo that is fairly strong. The kit comes with a cleaner, activator and the black adhesive.

When the guys (or girls?) stole mine, it looks like they used some sort of long knife or blade of some sort. The black goo left on my rear window had some sawing marks.

They F'ed up a little the black rubber gasket/window trim that goes around the rear window as well by their efforts to remove the wing.

All in all... i don't know if i want to go through the hassle of another one.
