This feels good!!!
You guys know by now we got a 2004 C230 SSK.
We stopped by the Merc dealer because there was one service written in the book at that location. I wanted more history on the car. He tells me all the maint was done there and what small work was performed (hose, sus. bushings and tail light bulbs). He lets it slip that a woman owned it. Once he realised I was paying attention to that he says I cant tell you her name but she worked here as the mangers assistant. He said "You got a good car"!!!
Hope he is right and I have no probs ...

i don't know about most of you guys, but for me, i wouldn't be very confident knowing if my used car was previously owned by a woman...especially an older woman. why so? look around you....your girlfriend, mother, grandmother or just girls you know and see how they take care of their cars. most women only knows 3 things about their cars: (1) pump gas (2) drive and (3) complain to their boyfriends/husbands/etc...when something goes wrong. by the time they realize something is wrong, it's already pretty bad. unless she was an enthusiats like most of us, then i can relax a bit. otherwise, i'll be worried.

I would prefer a car owned by someone that had all the work done by the dealer, especially if they worked at the dealer. I would take it over a car owned by an "enthusiast" who probably thrashed it and thought they knew more about what was good for the car than the engineers that designed it. As far as man/woman goes I think women are far less agressive drivers than men and the car should be in better condition because of it.

I AM an older woman and I am crazy about my SL500. Already this week, I have washed it three times and meticulously waxed it twice! It is my baby. And, my Highlander goes for dealer service once a year and it is detailed four times a year. Both my cars are black with stone interiors and they take lots of care. There ARE women enthusiasts on this forum, just like you! And yes, I agree that men are much more aggressive drivers and a woman's car should be in better condition because of it. That is why my husband doesn't touch my SL, or Highlander, ever!
my car was owned by my female cousin...for 3 years...there are scratches all over the car...and she crashed two times...both times above 3000 to fix....>< girls suck at driving!! okay...the majority of them!

Women Drivers
Definitely, the women drivers who know what they are doing are on average better than even the male drivers who know what they are doing.
The woman in my family (I'm a student and not married yet so go figure), is a "so-so" driver. There are three things that makes her less than perfect. Keep in mind, I'm a very detailed person.
1. She's not the best parallel parker. But she's a great high-speed driver.
2. She doesn't use the parking brake often enough. I advise her to put the car into neutral, step onto the parking brake, release the service brake, and then put it into park. Sometimes, she just puts it into park. This subsequently wears out the parking transmission pin more quickly from what I'm told.
3. Starting the engine, although cars today don't need warm up, you should not put it into gear right after starting it. You should let the engine RPMs subside first. They will first shoot up to around 1500, then 1100, then finally subside to around 700 RPMs after around 15 seconds. I've advised her to wait until the engine RPMs are under 1000 RPMs prior to putting the car in gear.
Details details details. Life's all in the details.
Women drivers aren't all bad. The ones that know what they're doing are probably better than even some of the men who know what they're doing. If I were to ever acquire a second-hand car, I'd hope to acquire it from a woman who knew what she was doing rather than from a man who knew what he was doing.
