My Service experience...

So I took my car in for Service "B" and it turns out my front brakepads need replacing. That's fine. What upset me is that MB Honolulu would not warranty a tire I purchased from them not even a few months ago. Is there no warranty on Michelin tires? There was a huge bubble on the side wall, yet they said I had to pay for another tire. My total bill for last week Friday was $998.00.

My SA said I'm supposed to contact the City and County and write a letter with an accompaning picture of a pothole which "supposedly caused" the damage. THat way, the City will pay me back. But as I stated, I thought Michelin tires had a limited warranty on them.

Sorry to hear about your trip to the stealership. When I punctured my 5month old tire I didn't think to ask if it was covered under warranty, I just went out and bought a new one. MB wanted $180 for the tire & $50 to mount it. I bought it of the internet for $110 & paid $20 to balance, mount & dispose if the old one.
When I bought 4 new tire for my wife's car that's when I realised the MB came with a road harard warranty which would have replaced my tire. I only aske the Stealership what it would cost to replace the tire.
Look on the bright side the A service is only an oil change!

That's all they charged you? My stealership (RAB in San Rafael) tried to get me to pay $590 for the two rear Michelins when they were going bald. Yeah right.

Our stealershp here charges $350 for a tire (incl. mounting and balancing etc..). When I replaced both rear tires it was $700 ish. I know it's a benz, but man.. these costs are quite outrageous.
