Car PC in 2003 C230K
Okay, some may think this is a crazy idea, but are we all a little mad??
So here is my idea.
Remove Stereo deck and storage spot below. Replace with 7 in Lilliput touch screen monitor. Remove CD-changer in glove box, replace with small form factor (mini-itx) 1.3 Ghz Via motherboard and cpu. My idea is to have this computer run windows xp, have a "drive-soft" clone running on it and offer music, dvds, gps, rear-view camera, wireless internet, bluetooth (not sure if I can get that to work with phone though...) and anything else we can think of.
Suggestions and ideas are much needed and appreciated.
Thanks!
Steve

No its not a bad idea, but please search the forum. This has been discussed else where. One member even did an OEM look in his CLK.

Then you can put an "Intel Inside" windshield banner... They have new nano-itx motherboards that are about 5" square. Here's a website where the guy did what you want to do http://www.cartft.com/community/dock...n/carpcbasics/

Why not get an Apple Mac Mini http://www.apple.com/macmini/
all you need for the display is anything with a dvi-d connector
I/O? Voice recognition software is built into OS X
then again, so is dvd/cd playback and burn....
You can even run Windows if you really need to.
