If any Canadians do reply, can you state if you have installed an aftermarket HU in your car, and where you got the harness and adapter from.

Thanks.

What HU did you install, and where did you get the Metra kit from? and the VW harness?

I want to install either the Audio 10 or an aftermarket HU and would like to get a better idea of where to look for the parts rather than have to call around for a day trying to track them down in Canada, when they might not even be sold up here.

I've a Nakamichi CD-700, but I've already ordered another HU because my Naka CD changer has broken down 3 times in 1 year. I'm fed up with Nakamichi products. I bought the Metra kit from England. I am in the process of setting up an online wheels and accessories store serving Canadian only. As you said, a lot of stuff that are sold in the US are not available in Canada. And Canadians usually have to pay extra (shipping, taxes) to get something like that. I am also looking to import stuff from Evosport too. IMO, its better for you to get an aftermarket HU than an Audio 10 UNLESS you will not change the speakers or add a amp in the future.

So there's no way to get the Metra kit in Canada? I don't want to spend $100 on installation parts... maybe if they're available in NY I can make a roadtrip and pick one up...

Also, I am leasing the car, and unsure I am going to buy it (probably am... but in 4 years if I have more cash... AMG...) so realistically I am considering the factory changer or the Audio 10, and considering I might beable to get the Audio 10 for $400 CND its sounding like a better deal than $800 for the changer.

Not really, I know a couple of shops in Canada have Metra kit already.
Just make sure you will not change speakers or add an amp, otherwise when you change your mind after you bought the Audio 10 or CD changer, you'll be wasting $800 or $400 (whatever the cost of the changer) because factory changer cannot be hooked up to aftermaket HU.

That's all I need to know now, who sells the Metra kit and VW adapter in Canada?

I wasn't going to hack the cables and dash to get an aftermarket HU in, and wanted to make sure the Metra kit is available in Canada if I choose to go that route...which will probably happen to get MP3 CD... who really needs the steering wheel controls and dash display!

Now which HU to choose.... save and buy an indash DVD for a christmas present and listen to the radio for 4 months... or buy now and get something I'll throw away after 4 years....

I added a full system to my C230. I think the installers used a VW harness, but Im not sure. I got RFX9200 HU and Neo Mp3 HU on the bottom slot. I got Kicker Components and Kicker Mid Bass. For Amps I got Kicker 704 & Kicker 1302. And Kicker 15" Comp Vr Sub. I just finished it so I hope to take pictures soon

Hey Harris, when are you opening up your shop????

Where is it going to be located???

This is a really good idea, cuz Im guessing there are alot of people who live in Canada and own a Mercedes, but don't have access to aftermarket parts (like me) unless they order them from across seas (which I really don't like doing).

I wouldn't mind seeing some Canadian locations selling Reiger or Kleeman parts in T.O.

There's a shop in Thornhill called BBR Sports (or sport something, can't remember)that has a ton of European cars parked outside, namely Audis and a Porsche, but i always had a feeling they'd do Mercedes as well, although I've never checked.

I found a place that would import merecedes tuner parts in the Toronto area, it's http://www.totalmotorsports.com, but they don't even have a website yet, so I guess you could call them up or something.

You're giving us the URL but on the other hand you said they dont have a website, does that mean this is not their company's URL??? I am puzzled!!

Oh, sorry, you can reach the company's site, but it only has one page that says "under construction" and it lists a phone number.
