Talking 2nd 2005 Digital Climate control to work!

I had talked with Steve about changing my analog climate control in my C230K SS for the digital climatronic that comes in the European spec W203 in the past but decided against it because of the amount of unsuccessful attempts. However, when I noticed Steve successfully installed it in EKY’s car, I had to try it. Steve does not have any trips planned for the East coast in the near future so I decided to install it myself. Steve said, it was a simple plug and play – it will either work or it not work (I will post installation instructions in another thread for anyone who is interested). It was a long shot but… Steve told me a few things to check to make sure it was working properly and we confirmed that it is working correctly – we now have the second successful 2005 digital climatronic install. The rest feature also appears to be working but I haven't fully tested it.

Special thanks to Wanda, Steve and Mark.

Congrats! What's the built date on your C? Maybe I might try it someday. How much was the climate control unit? Thanks.

Steve tried like 5 on mine! NONE of them worked. if you combined all 5 maybe they would work properly, but it didn't work on mine. I wish I could have posted something like this...

congrats man!

I think the command will be my next upgrade. I just sent Steve an email asking if the Euro spec command supports the iPod integration kit. I would give that up. If not, I will have to go with the MCS US spec command.

The build date on my 2005 C230K SS is 10/04. Steve had two coming to California and said I could purchase the second one so the price may not be the same on new orders. Check with Steve for a price or send an email to sales@mbenznl.com.

Thanks! I was thrilled when it actually worked – I wanted this option when I bought my car but I found out it was not available in the US.

Any luck with this on an 06 C280? I _really_ want digital climate control zones badly.. although the analog controls are simple, they just seem silly in a car that cost over $42k...

Mine is also built on the exact same month...10/04. If yours worked, maybe mine might also. I'll email Steve more about it.

I know what you mean. When I saw the digital climate control I said I don't want the analog control but I soon found out that only the analog control was available on the US spec W203. As far as I know there have only been two confirmed installs that worked. Both are 2005 C230 Kompressor sport models -- mine and EKY's (https://mbworld.org/forums/showthrea...highlight=2005).

Hi to all,
I'm Italian and frist I have to say sorry for my english if it'll be wrong.
I have a C220 Avantgard with manual climatronic, today I replace my climatronic with a digital climatronic like that on the attached photo at the beginning of this thread, but I think it doesn't work well because when I set 17 degrees it continues to send very hot air. Also the directions of the sended air doesn't change when I change them on the climatronic.
Have you got any ideas? Help me please!
Thank you for your answers.

Mine Works!!!

Bought the digital controller from ebay Germany listing. I can confirm mine works, just installed it today . It is a plug and play. It will require a reset from Stardiagnose, but yes it can be done! I had my mechanic in authorized MB shop did the swap. My car is a w203 2006 make.

Check out the seller in ebay Germany: maerklinnist

it's not the cut-off date of the models, it's the Climatronic assembly itself.
Some are very quirky.

Steve installed mine on a 2003 C-Coupé a couple of years ago and has worked flawlessly ever since.
