ASP Pulley
But there is a problem though. I thougt all you need to do was change the fuel setting in ECU from whatever MB had to Stage 2 or 3 after a pulley installed.
Isn't it right? Or is there something else you need to adjust as far as F/A concern?
Buellwinkle, since you are the expert on the pulley, I need your experties on that.
It can effect your new car warranty but they would have to prove that the pulley caused the damage. If the pulley wasn't on there when you brought it in, it would be harder to prove. In over a year that I've studied these pulley kits I've only heard of two failures and they were both related to the S/C and not the engine. One had a S/C seal leak and the other created a click-clack noise but no effect in performance.
""Assuming you got the alloy pulley, you will notice a huge improvement. Gives the car wings. My torque went up by 35 and horsepower by 29 when I put the ASP alloy pulley on and the Kleemann should be as least as good. Please make sure to have the the a/f ratio checked on a dyno under load before and after to make sure you are OK. I had to have ECU settings changed for fuel and
???timing???
to make it right but even then I won't really know if it worked until a Monday night dyno session. Ideally you want to not go over 13:1, I was pushing 15 in spots. Also what helped performance was an ITG airfilter, at $51 it's a small investment for a few extra ponies. Good luck. Display your dyno results when you get it done. ""
Above came from BensWorld forum, this is what got me worried.
What timing were you talking about?
Remember, if your A/F is bad that the air filter will make it worse as more air gets in.
You mentioned about getting more air by having air filter maybe such as ITG, what should I do to my car after pulley and air filter installed?
Is there simple answer?
Setting fuel stage to 3 would solve the problem or just forget about the whole thing.
What would be the solution?
The ignition settings are based on fuel octane settings and since I can only get 91 octane, I've had mine set to 91. If you get 93 then by all means, set it to 93. This has nothing to do with the pulley and a/f ratio.
Thanks Buellwinkle. There is 93 gas around my area.
Hopely that will help it but
I will definetly dyno it , and see what I will be getting on F/A ratio.
