Fitting 19x10's on the back - pics attached

I've seen people put 19x10's on the back on this forum and on others, but I finally had my rims come in today and they wanting to run a test fit before they mounted the tires and the guys at the shop couldn't put it on. I'm going back in at 9AM, when they are going to mount 1 rear tire with a 3mm spacer, and they said they'll try 6mm if that doesn't work, but they aren't sure how far we can take it before it rubs the fender. They didn't mention adjusting the camber, but I'm wondering if that would help.

So my question is, how did some of you guys do it? Thanks in advance!!

I have a 2001 C320 Sport, and the tires will be Toyo T1R Proxes

not stock.
its gonna take more than just a spacer to fit the 10 in the back of your C..... first question, is your suspension lowered????

It goes like this...you need the following:

1. CORRECT offset
2. A stretched / round wall tire.. in other word, a TOYO 265 on a 10" will do the job just fine.
3. Seriously roll your fender
4. eliminate the bolts/clips that stick out of your bumper in the rear fenders.....

by eliminating all the things on this list you should be able to pull it off with the car lowered and everything, at least we did it on my buddies C320.

Well whats the offset? You can fit 19x10 on W203 but to make it 0 rubbing, you need 245/35 tires OR 36/37 offset.

1) I dont know what the offset is, but they said that its ok
2) I will be running a 265 on the rear

But 3 & 4 I haven't done, and will bring that up with the mechanic tommorrow. Thanks!

I drove 6 hours from out of down and went strait to the shop just to get the rims on. No surprise the car isn't that clean.

I have 10s in the rear with no spacers at all. No rubbing unless under a heavy load in the trunk or alot of passengers, and only then do I get slight rubbing. For my wheels, it just came down to having the right offset.

Me too. No rubbing (unless 5 people in car, which causes slight rubbing of plastic lining - no threat to puncturing the tires). Running 19X10 in the rear with 265/30R19 Goodyear F-1's. Lowered on TEIN SS coilovers. I'm not sure if the 2001 320 SS came with rear fenders rolled/folded (my 2004.5 230 K SS came with folded rear fenders), but that will play a big factor as well.

I always thought that when you went for that kind of size of wheel and tire, the first thing you should do is to get your fenders rolled. However, seems like two people on this forum didn't need to.

I don't understand the problem, why can't the people in the shop put the wheels on with the tires?

Nope. I'm the 1st and only owner of my car. Special ordered, in fact (and they didn't tell me the 2005 was going to be released in a few months after I received it.

You can feel it in comparison to other fenders. Usually, when a fender is not rolled, the wheel well will stick out and feel/look like this on the inside: L (assuming you're looking at the Left Rear)

My fenders, in the rear, were folded back towards the inside of the wheel well like this: U

I'm pretty sure this was a Sport Sedan thing, but I don't think it's ever been established when they started doing this. There's nothing more that can be done to roll the rear fender on my car. If I needed to do anything more, the portion of the fender that is folded in would need to be trimmed.

This is dissapointing, I was hoping to have this done with, but it didn't happen and I'm going back home without them.

It didn't work out with spacers, now they want to try hub-centric spacers. They could ship it out to me when its done for only $80, but I'd rather make sure it fits on the car itself, so I have to come back in a couple of weeks.

The 2001 320 SS is factory rolled, I didn't know this myself until they pointed that out yesterday.

Here is mine, the rims are Bazo b52's and the tires are dunlops, no rub, but the roads out here are horrible for low profile tires (chicago suburbs) especially on highways, they need to fix the potholes.

the clear something. ALL W203 has the SAME rear quarter panel. They all have U shape at the edge. If you roll the fender the edge will feel like it's completely flat with sheet metal touching each other.

Frank...My car was just like Drex describet it. I ended up having to take mine to a body shop and have the fenders rolled (into a "U" shape) because they were rubbing bad. The inside of my fender was like an "L" shape and the tire would rub on the bottom part of it (horizontal part). I'm sure that all W230 have the same quarter panels but they must had rolled some on the factory or something because I've seen a lot of them with the "L" shape and a lot of them factory rolled! I have to agree with Drex.

It is really wierd!!! I'm one of those not-so-lucky-ones that had to pay $200.00 to had them rolled!!! They work out good now!

The $200 is will save you money in the long-run, cuz if your fenders cut into the tires...Ooh, that's double the $200 right away (no way to fix slices on the sidewall of tires.

Glad it worked out for you though.

If the wheels won't clear your rear suspension, they are the wrong offset. Spacers will only compound the problem, so I suggest you tell them to take the wheels back, if possible.

Damn Blake I was thinking the same thing after I posted earlier, this sounds like a offset issue what's the offset? If you don't know call the supplier and find out you have'nt mounted yet so you should be able to return them for the correct offset 32 front 35 rear this setup should work out just find.
