ok, i ordered the bulbs and now just waiting for them. but, i decided to replace the broken foglight lens today instead of just doing it all at once when the bulbs came.

well, i replaced the lens. the old-bulb was shattered with the lens. no error code was reported when fog lights was switched on. i removed the bulb and left the foglight's wire just dangling there. i put everything back together.

i go out for a drive and the a/c which is usually on auto blows a bunch of air till the temp and good and automatically reduces it. however, this time, auto turns off immediately after a 1 minute. i try it with the recirculation. same thing. with neither, the a/c works but i get a weird smell.

i go back and open everything up near the passenger side foglight. i do not see any problem.

before i assume it is a seperate issue with the a/c as stated on the forum and the RFM, i am wonder if i hit anything near the vicinity of the passenger side foglight to cause this. any ideas? thanks in advance.

Some night pics to see how the NOKYA bulbs look...

Here are some pics with the NOKYA ARCTIC WHITE bulbs. Eventually, when I change my front bumper, I'm going to go with yellow bulbs.

Question How do you change the Flog lamp Bulbs?

Hello all,

Has anyone changed the front Fog Lamp bulbs in a 2005 C-Class. I believe they bulbs are H4's. If so, do you have any photo's of the proceedure and a description of what you did.

Thanks,

STFF.

you have to remove the panel in front of your front wheel.
just a few 10mm bolts and some push-pins.

then, reach under your car and take the bulb out.

Thank you rlee02135. Are there any special instructions on getting the bulb out of the fog lamp holders themselves? Is it just a turn and pull out like the indicator lamps?

Thanks for the help.

Holy cow, that sounds difficult. I'm not going to use my fog lights as much anymore.

Maybe I can ask my dealer to do it on my behalf.

it's a turn and pull out. the driver's side is a pain in the ***. it's terrible if you have big hands--there is around a 4 inch gap between the light and a water tank. do the passenger side first b/c that is the easiest. you do need to turn the steering wheel all the way to the right or left when you do this.

it's not that hard to do, I'm sure the dealers would charge a good amount of money to do this job for the retards that can't figure it out...

Yea, I said "maybe". Besides, even if I did choose to remain ignorant, that doesn't make me a "retard".

Besides, some people have money left after acquiring this car unlike some people who have a nicer car than their manners. Or maybe it's just an LA thing? I hear that city turns people a bit meaner. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks,
This is a very good question, especially since I couldn't find the actual instructions for this procedure in the owner's manual.

the first time i changed it, it took me about an hour to take the lamps out, but the second time, it took me 20 mins

it's not about manners, it's about someone (you, if you can't read between the lines) who posts an annoying obvious obnoxious response each time a new thread is started. it's about someone (you again) who is a walking contradiction. in response to you, I do have money left over after acquiring this car, I'm not going to go into detail as to how much I spent on it and how much I spent on my mods etc. like you enjoy doing, but I can tell you that I do have enough to pay the dealership but I just don't choose to. besides, you may trust your dealer, I don't trust mine (going back to one of your asinine posts and random ramblings).

and, going back to the cash issue that you love to belabor, for someone that isn't going to use their foglights b/c they fear replacing them, doesn't that give even more proof that your comment above to me is another contradiction?

P.S. I'm going to get to my point, I find you to be an annoying obnoxious newbie that has posted over 525 times in less than a couple months with nothing that has actually helped out in the boards. you restate the obvious and you play it off as if it's something new that you've discovered.

if you want, you can quiz a lot of people on the board that know me and have met me in person, I'm not a mean person, I just take offense to people who like to hear themselves talk but have nothing good to say other than restate the obvious.

Some people don't like replacing fog lights, whether or not they can get it done at no cost or at cost, especially if it's so much trouble to replace.

I apologize about implying that you're a mean person, I don't know you and this is unfair of me to make this comment. Still, nice people can still do things that are not nice. Stating that a person who doesn't want to replace his/her foglights themselves as a "retard" wasn't the nicest thing in the world either.

Lastly, I might have overposted a bit on this forum. However, I think a reasonable percentage of my posts weren't that obvious. For example, I once stated that bi xenon lights shouldn't be repetitively turned on and off. You stated that had nothing to do with the "igniter" of the lighting system and only had to do with the bulb. But I could also state that it's obvious that turning the lights on and off would also put greater stress on the igniter as well.

How about this, since it's fruitless to have a constant debacle on the forums, and it does neither of us any good; why don't we start from a clean slate. I have nothing against you. I assume you are the same way with me. Clean slate. And I'll try to be more cautious about stating obvious things.

No matter what, even though the 411 was posted on this procedure, people should still STFF before posting another thread of a topic that's been discussed several times. I'd bet a grip of money, if a person did an "advanced" search using the search key words "replace fog light bulbs", you'd find an older thread that could've easily helped.

Is there a clean slate? I don't want my popcorn to get dirty. But I've always heard that dirty popcorn has a richer taste.

most helpful post in this thread. i just replaced both fog lamp bulbs with PIAA Xtreme White, they're not much different from the stock lamps though so i think i just wasted an hour. anyway here are the pics.

the driver's side fog was a b****. i had to take off both the panel in front of the wheel and the panel just above the bumper to even reach up there, and once i got the bulb changed it didn't want to go back in the socket.
ah well its done. never again! haha...
