In his description, it says 15-25HP increase. If I am reading his dyno chart correctly, I see a peak HP going from stock 170ish to 230ish HAHAHHAHAAH well worth the $350 to see a 60HP increased to the wheel !!!

I don't see why this wouldn't work. If fed in conjunction into the stock supercharger yeah there should be a boost.

My only concern would be whether or not the engine can handle the extra boost.

You would not be able to generate enough air volume at a high enough PSI to even make 1HP, seriously. Calling it a leaf blower is an insult to leaf blowers, at least they have a purpose.

Here's what the guy's in the NSX forum have to say about stuff like this:
http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showt...376#post479376

Basically its Snake Oil. One post is pretty good explaining how 12V wouldn't be enough to produce any noticable HP gains.

Sure, but only if you throw in some of those intake vortex thingies, and some fuel line magnets to improve the mileage . . .

Let's put it this way, if you are the kind of guy that buys diet pills, start a new internet business or buy ginsu knives from a TV commercial get it by all means. This could be the crappiest leaf blower ever. Why they called it an electric supercharger anyways? they should called them a "big ugly useless 'thing'".

If you get 15-25HP just by installing this he will be rich by now. What they are really selling is a VERY, VERY expensive K&N filter

hmm, let's see what we have here. 2.2 amps * 12 volts = 26.4 watts of energy (the stated energy consumption of the "supercharger" off of the website). Now, 1 horsepower = 746 watts. So, this thing generates about 3% of one horsepower. For comparison, belt driven superchargers are parasitic meaning in helping the motor to generate extra power by incresing intake pressure they actually take away some of the motor's power to run it. For example, it's not uncommon for a supercharger to require up to 20 horsepower to run it.

In conclusion, what difference will a "supercharger" make that's using 26.4 watts of energy when a real supercharger can use up to 15,000 watts? NADA!!!

how about you use a barrel drum fan motor, and 3 batteries in the trunk, run it off some gears ( 1st gear = X psi, 2nd gear = X psi, etc) That should create enough power to be noticeable...

He says it pushes 250 CFM. A stock 1.8L C230 uses about 335 (333.399)CFM at 6000 RPM @ 11 psi (equivilant to a 3.15L N/A motor at 6000 RPM). To make any horsepower, you need to first supply 335 CFM to overcome the vacuum (air flowing through the filter not actual manifold pressure) created by the engine and blower otherwise it just becomes an air restriction. Theoretically if you can push more than 335 CFM at redline, that would be more air going in then the engine needs, thus giving higher boost. You would just need to add more fuel to make power.

Works best when you combine the electric supercharger with the gas saver pill, the grounding straps, a can of octane booster, and a new set of muffler bearings.

I'd hold off...I hear the battery powered turbo is next 'big thing'.

haha but really the RC thing could work, get a nitrous gas motor for a RC aircraft and retrofit two of them into each intake... Where the tow hook cover is in the front bumper, convert that into where you put gas into the reserves for the RC motors.. Run lines for the fuel and nos for the RC motors, from the trunk to the front where the intakes are. You could control the motors from RC style servo, and maybe get some cool stuff for it like a tach, and how much vacuum is being created

Don't toss the grounding straps in there. They do work. Stock cars are engineered with enough ground strap for the ignition supplied, but if you increase the spark voltage or duration you might have a restriction that hampers performance through the stock grounding system. In racing applications they do lower ET's, but you need to be near redline to observe any benifit. On a street car they are, as you point out, worthless.

I like that straight line supercharger better. It allowes to create effects that are seen in the rocket engines: narrow pipe line suddenly widens thus generating reactive gas/air flow. Just have to be careful with that thing, you will need to upgrade your brake system to a parachute like in the space shuttles and seat belts must leave place for a catapult

At first I thought that you were talking about an electric blower like found on Mazdas a while back. This looks completely fraudulent.

I really like this idea. I could do a slight modification to the system by running the intake hose through the firewall under the dash. I would then have the world's first self-cleaning interior.
