Exclamation Help! Transmission problem.

Hi,

My car is w203 yr.2002 c180. I have problem with the transmission.

The engine light on the dashboard lights up and the transmisssion just wouldn't shift to higher gear, using only single gear.

Have tried to do everything with the gear shift (changing mode to w, s, using tiptronic, etc..). But the car just didn't respond.

The engine warning indicator lights up right after the car try to change gear (with very harsh jerking movement).

Now it's on permanently. What seems to go wrong?

limp home mode? ive heard this phrase tossed around here and there, you might have some sort of nasty issue w/ your car so it put you in limp home mode... im not sure.

good luck..

yeah doesnt sound like your trans to me, you have a check engine light and it wont go very fast or shift, it is in limp home mode........ from what your describing kinda sounds like electronic accelerator, but you can only find out for sure with some diagnostics

Update...

Just want to update on things (and hopefully will be useful for other ppl in the future)

Took my car to merc, and they say it was only because of flat battery.
Don't know what caused them, but they just reset the sensor and it works fine now.
Hopefully didn't re-appear in the future.
