2 IPOD Questions for 2004.5
I did a search but couldnt find anything on this.
1. I tried the tape adaptor but it constantly beeps because I didnt close it shut. With the cable coming out from the cassette, if I close the tape player, is there any chance it could get stuck?
2. Is there a way to lose my cd changer (in glove box) and use my ipod? i found the DIY to lose the tape player but it seems to risky to try on my own. I dont need the cd changer if i can use my ipod so is there an affordable product I can use?
The ice link was 500 on ebay. no thanks

I dont know about the cd changer removal and putting in the ipod but I am sure there are plenty of memebers able to answer that one....
But about the DIY on the Tape Deck into an Input - why not take it to an electronics guy and give them the link so they can do it for you... its probably the best option and cheapest of getting an input for your IPOD.

For the tape adaptor to fit, take a sharp knife and strip away the outer wire cover of the tape adapter for about two inches about half an inch away from the tape side of the adapter. That way, the two wires inside will give you enough flexibility to close the LCD screen.
There is an OEM Ipod adaptor, but it costs about $200-300 I believe (talk to your dealer).

here's what I use....
I've installed these in both my Benz's and my truck (the MG's dont need 'em). I use the optional FM interface - plugs into the Antenna Input on the back of the radio - which gives noise and fade free performance.

I used a cassette adapter for a few weeks and it never got stuck. The only problem was the right channel was lower. I could fix this by adjusting the balance, but I eventually tired of changing it when I would switch to radio or CD so I went for the tape player mod. I admit it was scary at first but the tutorial and pics made it surprisingly easy. I am so happy I did it. If you cant find the link or pics PM me.
